This is a general commercial and transactional in-house counsel position based in Shanghai oversee the entire range of legal services provided to the company
This position is an individual contributor reporting to the Finance Director and may have matrix reporting to the Legal Counsel in the regional office.
Key accountabilities:
General legal support (70%)
Risk control (25%)
External counsel management (5%)
Responsibilities
· Establish standards and enforcement procedures which will includes contract review standard, risk control & supplier management
· Primarily commercial contracts drafting (Sales, Purchase, Sub contract, administrative), review, negotiation according to internal rules and regulations and provide legal advice to business units and supporting functions on a day to day basis.
· Establish and maintain communication channels with relevant governmental authorities as and when required
· Coordinate with outside counsels in handling litigation or arbitration cases
· Provide compliance training to employees on FCPA, legal requirements and company practices & policies
· May support HR team to revise labor contract and deal with employment adjustment and contract renew etc
· Any other duties as assigned/ac hoc basis
Qualifications & requirements
· Law degree, minimum 5-7 years general commercial legal experience
· Strong drafting, negotiation and legal analytical skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team to achieve common goals
· Strong communication, negotiating skills and can drive task independently
· Ability to work under pressure, respond to business needs and goals within tight schedule as well as be able to manage multiple assignments and show excellent qualities
· Excellent and fluent (written and oral) in Mandarin is mandatory and good English proficiency
