Responsibilities:
1. Individual must have fundamental understanding of mechanical and/or electronics engineering and should have a working knowledge of BCS products, preferably Steering Control Modules, Integrated HVAC center control stack, interior switches etc.
2. Responsible for generating and developing cost reduction and product improvement ideas and leading the execution of VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) projects through feasibility assessment, business case development, project planning and approval and handoff to the Program management for the project implementation.
3. Duties include identification and evaluation of cost reduction and product improvement ideas for technical feasibility, financial benefit, and customer acceptance.
4. Individual is responsible for participating as a core VAVE team member including assistance to Program Management for driving implementation of projects that are handed off to PM, assisting Sales in interfacing with OEMs to receive acceptance of projects, and achieving cost saving targets.
5. Individual must be highly motivated, able to work in a cross functional team environment to drive ideas through completion.
6. Position requires close interface and cooperation with internal and external groups both regionally and globally including Program Management, Core and Applications Engineering, Sales, Finance, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Customers. Up to 15% travel, domestically and internationally required.
7. This position offers excellent opportunity for inter-department and high visibility to corporate head office and upper management.
Requirement:
1. Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years progressive experience, Product engineering, Program Management experience, OEMs, and Manufacturing/Process experience a plus.
2. Excellent interpersonal skills, creativity, business and financial acumen, and a passion for cost reduction are required.
3. Experience in Body Control Systems is preferred. Computer proficiency and efficiency are must.
4. Must have very good English language skills both written and verbal.
