Position Responsibilities:
? Work with Perkin Elmer Procurement and Engineering worldwide to ensure delivery of high-quality, low-cost components and assemblies in a timely manner
? Identify potential suppliers that meet Perkin Elmer's needs. This will involve assessing technical, commercial and regulatory suitability of these suppliers, with an emphasis on the technical aspects
? Carry out or participate in formal Supplier Audits to ensure continuous quality products / processes
? Arrange for Quality Control of parts as required by Perkin Elmer's Quality System. This will include:
? Ensuring that suppliers conduct their own inspection.
? Arranging for local, third-party inspection of trial batches from new suppliers when requested
? Assist Perkin Elmer sites with supplier management activities for on-going production, such as expediting line-stops or quality problems.
? Work with suppliers to implement Design For Manufacturing possibilities to benefit total cost reductions for Perkin Elmer
? Drive continuous quality initiatives within suppliers, as needed
? Provide technical supports to Supplier IQA inspectors, develop/provide inspection instruction and training to Supplier IQA inspectors on how to inspect/measure incoming materials based on BSI quality inspection requirements/criteria.
? Provide escalation technical support to supplier production when reported component quality issues occur in order to minimize production downtime due to component quality issue.
? Manage supplier quality issues to ensure closed-loop root cause and corrective action process, drive continuous supplier quality improvement program for his/her assigned section/commodities.
? Participate in supplier quality rating process by compiling site's input.
? Make recommendations and execute supplier audit plan with objective to achieve yearly Supplier DPPM Quality Targets by product.
? Support FAI requests from BSI Stakeholders, when applicable, for localization or new part qualification needs.
Education & Experience Request:
? 4 - Year Degree in either Manufacturing (Industrial) or Mechanical is required.
? A broad knowledge of manufacturing techniques applicable to Perkin Elmer products will be needed. These include (but are not limited to): Sheet metal, Machining (turning, milling, grinding), Injection-molding, Casting (pressure and gravity die-casting, sand-casting and investment casting), Optical glassware
? Candidates should have significant experience in manufacturing, preferably with low-volume, high-mix environments and products with high-technology content.
? Fluency in English (both written and oral) required. Other languages a plus.
? Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
? Able to make decisions based on quantitative data required
? Experience with CAD (computer-aided design) software / technology is required
? Experience with Microsoft Office applications required
? Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel for use of pivot tables, graphs, charts and data analysis for communicating project results and financials
? Strong understanding of quality systems requirements and manufacturing processes.
? Strong understanding of ISO standards.
? Experience performing financial analysis (NPV, ROI, Total Cost evaluations) and presenting them for management approval required
? Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
? Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
? Flexible during times of change.
? Strong interpersonal skills.
? Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
? Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
