A 40 year old U.S. Houseware and Home Furnishings company is searching for a highly experienced and professional Sourcing Coordinator to support them with significant growth for their supply chain needs.

Job Description
The Asia Sourcing Coordinator will serve as the bridge to connect Asia based vendors with our U.S. Sourcing, Purchasing and Marketing teams.
* Be part of a sourcing team, who has past experience in sourcing houseware and other consumer goods out of China and other Asia countries.
* Directly source and find product in key high-performance categories upon request.
* Develop, shape and execute product category strategies, both short-term and long-term.
* Lead negotiations with key strategic suppliers, pricing, cost control and other cost saving strategies ensuring optimal purchasing terms.
* Understanding specific production methods, especially plastic injection molding, metal stamping and fabrication.
* Basic knowledge of basic raw materials for consumer products, as in different plastics and other polymers, metals, finishes and coatings, among others.

The Successful Applicant
This is a key position within the Asia Global Sourcing Team and requires someone with a best-in-class procurement and sourcing background, strong communication skills and understanding of the functions of a global supply chain.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
* 3+ years of experience in a world-class procurement function.
* MUST have past experience sourcing houseware or consumer products for global markets.
* Previous work experience for OEM, but also ODM or direct to marketing sourcing.
* Hardline and Softline houseware product sourcing would be of great interest.
* Proven past experience in working within a team environment.
* Experience creating and executing sourcing for specific product categories.
* Understanding U.S. based E-Commerce and other online shopping sites and how they function is a huge plus.
* Ability to be strategic and hands-on.
* ERP/MRP past experience.
* Fluency in English, written and spoken is a must.
