Job Title: Technician / Senior Technician, Cell Biology

Responsibilities:
The candidate will carry out laboratory experiments and assays associated with the development of novel cell culture media formulations and processes. The Technician works in a laboratory environment and is required to lift up to 40 lbs. As a Technician, you may be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties. You must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials. The project may require flexible hours working for the Technician.
? Executes experimental plans and analyzes data with guidance, and contributes to technical reports and product summaries
? Assist Scientist / Sr. Scientist in selecting approaches and techniques for obtaining solutions
? Troubleshoots and solves problems in the design/execution of development projects
? Maintains accurate lab notebook to support protection of intellectual property in accordance with relevant Thermo Fisher required standards
? Presents data internally and contributes to external publications when appropriate
? Support local commercial events (i.e. customer visit, training, seminar, etc.)and provide technical support to bring business benefit to the organization
? Performs duties independently with guidance from the Scientist or manager
? Complies with all company safety, training, quality regulations (e.g., ISO compliance, GLP/GMP requirements, etc.) and procedures
? Support the Scientist and Manager in maintaining laboratory consumables and reagents inventory， and daily operations of the laboratories
? May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
? Bachelor’s degree, Master's degree is a plus, in Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry or other related discipline, with 2 plus years of experience or equivalent knowledge and experience
? Understand the methods and techniques of cell biology and small-scale mammalian cell culture
? Proven fast learner on new technology / knowledge / process
? Experienced in data analysis and basic understanding of statistical analysis
? Previous cell culture experience with cell lines used in protein production applications (e.g. CHO, HEK293, NS0) or with adherent cells e.g. Vero, Marc-145, diploid cell
? For Sr. Technician position, prior industrial experience, particularly in process development and/or cell culture media formulation development is required
? Basic understanding of identifying and solving problems
? Verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate scientific results in an efficient way
? Good written communication skills, both in English and Mandarin, good oral communication skills in Mandarin, good oral communication skills in English is a plus
? Ability to efficiently evaluate and manage multiple project tasks
? Capable to carry technical interaction with colleagues and members of other departments

Preferred Qualifications:
? Working knowledge of scientific principles and proven proficiency in statistical design of experiments (DOE)
? Experience in research design and the evaluation of new techniques and procedures for manufacturing reagents, systems, products or technologies
? Understanding of chemical, biochemical and physical interactions of cell culture media and reagent components
? Previous experience with cell types used in cell therapy applications (e.g. T cells, MSC, ESC) or cell lines used in the production of viral vaccines (e.g. Vero, diploid cell, BHK)
? Familiarity with the operation of bench-top stirred tank bioreactors and related process development laboratory equipment as well as the scale-up of bioreactor and mixing systems, in particular SUB
? Experience with high-throughput cell culture technologies (e.g. ambr15)
? Experience with HPLC/UHPLC methods and instrumentation
? Experience with ICP/ICPMS
? Experience with Mass Spectrometry techniques and instrumentation
? Experience developing LC methods
? Experience with cGMP, GLP, CLIA or other lab regulation is preferred.
