职位描述：
Role Title: Primark Environmental Specialist (Chemicals and Water) -based in Shanghai

Responsible for on-going development and implementation of projects related to chemicals and water management in China, in line with Primark’s Environmental Sustainability Strategy. Actively support strategy for the Primark DETOX Commitment and collaboration with the ZDHC Foundation and other organisations related to chemicals and water.

Responsibilities/Key Tasks:
- Contributes to the on-going development of the Primark Global Environmental Sustainability Strategy and implementation programme in China, focussing on chemicals and water
Programme Strategy
- Supports Environmental manager to develop the standard operating procedures for aspects related to chemicals and water
Monitoring
- Monitors factory conditions and performances related to chemicals and water
- Consolidates data and follow up the non-compliance issue from due diligence monitoring of products and raw materials for compliance to Primark Restricted Substances List
- Monitors wastewater pre- and post-treatment at factories using wet processes
- Implements Supplier engagement with projects and requirements through Supplier Environmental KPI’s
- Uses non-audit interventions (spot checks, participatory research analysis etc.) as required to better understand factory conditions related to chemicals and water and subsequently improve relevant programme strategy
Solutions
- Engages with supply base to ensure requirements related to chemicals and water are known, specifically related to DETOX, IPE and ZDHC
- Engages with supply base to request action from the suppliers and factories to remediate issues or non-compliance found in audits or products
- Seeks solutions to the root cause of issues found in site assessment and audits, and raw material, product and wastewater testing
- Supports to gather trends from the Global Environmental Sustainability Strategy related to chemicals and water, and creates training, projects, programmes and workshops to address issues in the supply base
- Engages with supply base to align strategies and share best practices
- Supports supply base in the achievement of chemical management KPI’s in the MRSL guidelines.
- Maintains and increase the connection with supply base on the HIGG platform
- Supports supply base for on-boarding and on-going interaction with IPE PRTR platform
Team Management
? Collaborates with team members to implement activities related to chemicals and water projects
? Maintains highest degree of integrity in all operations and at all times
? Balances in-house audit capacity with 3rd party resource
? Ensures compliance with ABF Red Book
Internal engagement
? Engages across all departments and levels with confidence and gravitas
? Proactively engages all internal teams on policy and process related to chemicals and water, including but not limited to DETOX, IPE and ZDHC
? Works closely with the Quality team to manage and improve chemical compliance
? Manages the relationship with any consultants and specialists used for work related to chemicals and water projects
? Maintains a close network with other environmental team members
External stakeholder engagement
? Can be relied on as an ambassador of the Primark Brand and ABF Group
? Ensures understanding of hazardous chemicals and the ZDHC Foundation programme
? Develops and maintains relationships with local and regional stakeholders including Greenpeace, IPE, ZDHC Foundation and fellow contributor brands, Leather Working Group (LWG), SAC, Textil Bundnis which cover topics related to chemicals and water.
? Manages research partnerships with academic bodies on relevant topics
? Manages partnerships and relationships with 3rd parties required to deliver the programme
Reporting & Data
? Reports on supplier communications, site visits, audits and case studies
? Manages data and remediation actions for Suppliers
? Provides frequent reporting on progress related to supply chain performance and projects
? Ensures security of data and integrity of information used and shared
? Provides content support for external environmental sustainability rankings and media
? Provides content support for the website and external reporting e.g. annual DETOX report
? Provides the business with information regarding chemicals and water, including case studies, information relating to NGO or media campaigns, and other ad-hoc requests


Knowledge & Experience
-Experience in environmental sustainability
-Technical experience in chemicals and water
-Factory EH&S Management
-Excellent project management and communications skills
