职位描述
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES:
Works closely with plant and procurement personnel to add value in the following areas: 1) accuracy of our cost accounting processes, 2) increase reporting capabilities through enhancement of the current information streams, 3) improve understanding of shop-floor dynamics/performance, 4) inventory integrity and quality, and 5) improve/maintain appropriate business/fiduciary controls.
Frequently interfaces with other functional departments, including materials, manufacturing and engineering. This interface consists of providing problem definition and solution to issues concerning manufacturing cost, control and inventory accuracy.
Utilizes enterprise software (SAP) to analyze cost and financial performance. Assist in quotation process by working with Program Managers to forecast reasonable ranges of cost estimates for new programs using a Risk Strategist model.
Assists manufacturing and materials management in the development of plans and forecasts.
Insures the accuracy of product costs, including new product cost estimates.
Coordinates reformulations of current cost systems.
Enhances reporting capabilities relative to performance measurement – Customer/Product Line Reporting.
Participates in significant sourcing determinations and cost reduction initiatives associated with manufacturing and materials.
Investigates and reports significant variances from plan and forecast.
Provides assistance in financial justification and post implementation monitoring of capital projects.
Assists in insuring the accuracy of systems governing the valuation of inventory, to include excess/obsolete determinations.
Performs period end accounting close, preparation of varied reporting with associated commentary.
Establishes themselves as an internal source of financial information necessary to run the business and builds credibility with our internal customers.
Provides information and solutions to existing problems to others.
Actively pursues learning other aspects of the business and products.
Supports the role accounting/finance plays in the overall success of the business.
Advances themselves and applies such knowledge to best advise the organization.
Sets priorities relative to the business plan, communicates important objectives to others and drives for results.
Considers alternative problem solving solutions and anticipates the future consequences of each especially with respect to changes in material or manufacturing cost.
Actively pursues changes in technology that may impact the long term of the business.
Provides, on a day-to-day basis, the information and or training necessary for users to perform in their jobs.
Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
Participates as an effective team player and team contributor.
Effectively uses rigorous and proven methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
Works with needs of a changing organization to maximize flexibility within the organization.
Adheres to an appropriate and effective set of core values and beliefs and acts in line with those values.
Seeks out opportunities for improvement.
Understands and adheres to current quality and internal control policies.
Understands and adheres to current health, safety, and environmental policies.
Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance. Masters of Business Administration preferred.
Requires at least 8 years of Accounting experience. Experience in a manufacturing plant preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Office: (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Must have strong ERP experience, preferably with SAP.
Must have experience with cost functions including, bills of materials, labor routings and inventory.
A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience required.
Demonstrated interpersonal and analytical skills.
Professional certification such as CMA and/or CPA preferred.
