职位描述：
Primary Purpose:
The principal magnet engineer is the in-house expert in magnetic field generation and magnetic circuits, providing insight and innovative solutions in all areas of magnetic circuit design.

Key Responsibilities
o Provides the link between systems engineers and magnet, gradient, shim and RF coil design
o Provides technical guidance on identifying likely failure modes in prototype magnets, gradient, shim and RF coils and assists in appropriate risk mitigation
o Provides technical guidance on the integration of magnets, shim methods, gradient coils and RF probes
o With due regard to project timelines, owns:
？ the specifications for all magnets, shim, gradient & RF coils
？ the build of prototype magnets, shim, gradient & RF coils
？ the achievement of specified electromagnetic performance
o Develops appropriate design tools and skills for the next generations of:
？ permanent magnets and field optimisation (shimming)
？ room temperature shim coils
？ gradient coils
？ RF coils (probes)
o Identifies and champions advanced technology projects
o Assists as required in solving problems in production and in the field

Indicative Performance Measures
? Quality of magnet designs implemented
? Implementation of new designs on time and on budget
? Quality of technical guidance on field optimisation, RF probes and gradients

Person Specification – Essential requirements unless stated
? Relevant technical degree preferred and/or experience in the scientific industrial markets. Experience can be demonstrated.
? An excellent understanding of static and dynamic magnetic field circuit modelling
? A strong approach to the design of magnetic circuits using hard & soft magnetic materials and electromagnets
? A good understanding of NMR/MRI systems and the principles of operation
? Experience in integrating magnets into NMR/MRI systems
? A strong hands-on approach
? A proven ability to solve problems
