Responsibility
? Interpret customer specifications and/or marketing requirements to develop comprehensive product specifications.
? Develop mechanical systems, plastic and stainless steel parts/assemblies to meet performance, quality and cost targets.
? Comprehensive documentation responsibility including, but not limited to, generating detailed engineering drawings, Bill of Materials management in ERP, test reports, and product validation plans.
? Design and execute test planning; use a scientific problem solving method to resolve issues.
? Participate in troubleshooting, Failure Analysis, Root Cause, and Corrective Action processes as required.
? Design, test and record to minimize product liability risk.
? Introduce innovative solutions to customers' key application issues.
? Perform certification & compliance testing.
? Work with cross-functional departments in the efforts of product realization.
? Collaborate and develop relationships with local and remote internal engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and marketing resources.
? Support DBS initiatives, especially margin improvement VAVE projects

Requirement:
? 5+ years of experience engineering mechanical or electro-mechanical based products for commercial markets.
? CAD software for Mechanical design work (SolidWorks)
? Fundamental knowledge of various manufacturing techniques for stainless steel and plastic parts (e.g.; injection molding, deep drawing, machining, casting)
? Advanced understanding and use of engineering tools such as DFMEAs, statistical engineering techniques, Design of Experiments, failure analysis, GD&T, DFMA, product capability analysis
? Knowledge of regulatory certifications, such as Nema4x, shock and vibration tests, and shipping tests.
? Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
? Ability to work with dispersed, worldwide engineering centers.
? Ability to express technical matters adequately both orally and in writing.
? Ability to travel worldwide (<20%)
? Proficient in English & Mandarin -- written and oral.
? Knowledge of a tollgate or stage gate process for project execution
? Experience mentoring and guiding subordinate engineering positions
? 2 years experience in sensors/transducers products design strongly preferred.
? Working knowledge of basic electronics design preferred (PCBA placement, User Interface)
