Key Tasks
1. Employee Relations & Industrial Relation
? Effectively manage IR issues within the HR framework for the operational group
? Plan and effectively negotiate operational site Certified Agreement
? Maintain effective relationships with union officials and organisers
? Ensure operational management team are educated to minimise HR risks
? Ensure an effective consultation and communication process is followed to address HR/IR matters
? Communicate and implement changes to HR policies & procedures
? Ensure legal compliance throughout the employee lifecycle (from contract of employment to termination processes)

2. Business Partnering
? Act as a trusted business partner, educate and coach operational management team and employees on HR matters
? Provide human resource support to operational management team during the implementation of business changes that support growth
? Engage employees at all levels of the business to determine climate and advise on cross-cultural issues
? Actively drive behaviours that are in line with company goals and values

3. People Management & Leadership
? Performance reviews and development plans are in place for all direct reports and completed twice yearly
? Mentor and coach direct reports to provide talent for succession
? Manage information and communicate direction, progress, initiatives, changes and successes
? Ensure effective utilisation of human resources across the operation

4. Workforce Optimisation
? Support operational management team in workforce planning while taking in to account the changing nature of the business
? Ensure headcount figures are effectively managed, discrepancies are escalated and effective controls are put in place
? Encourage and promote cross functional teams across the operational business
? Effective management of third party labour providers
? Support operational teams in the optimisation of labour and ensure a lean workforce is maintained
? Utilisation of Human Resource Information System to provide timely and accurate information and reporting to the business
? Enhance selection systems, performance management, development program

5. OHS&E, Workers Compensation
? Drive and implement safety system, coordinate the communication of policies and procedures in line with OHS&E legislation
? Encourage and coach leaders to display behaviours that will drive a safety leadership culture
? Actively participate as a chair of the OH&S committee
? Actively participate and drive a reduction in employee injuries and lost time Oversee the co-ordination of OHS&E training and initiatives

6. Organizational Capability
? Lead and manage the end-to-end recruitment process to ensure a timely and optimal delivery of resource
? Effectively source and recruit for talent
? Induct new employees and facilitate the orientation process to maximise and ensure cultural fit
? Develop and implement a training and development plan for the operational team that equips individuals with the skills needed to meet Performance Review goals
? Develop and implement effective retention strategies to reduce unplanned turnover
? Develop a resource plan to maximise the development and succession of a pool of talent to be deployed into key roles
? Manage the exit process of individuals to ensure effective handover and attainment of employee feedback

7. Remuneration & Benefits
? Maintain an awareness of the organisation’s competitiveness with respect to remuneration and benefits within the marketplace
? Understand and make recommendations to the operational management team regarding increasing competitiveness within the marketplace
? Make remuneration and benefit recommendations to operational management team regarding role changes, promotions & transfers
? Coordinate the salary review process in line with the global HR process for the operational site

8. Financial Management
? Develop and maintain the human resource and organisational training budget
? Actively contribute to the Cost Reduction Improvement Plan
? Effectively micro-manage finances of the Human Resource budget
? Input in to HR reporting on a weekly and monthly basis
? Ensure HR Team adherence to the business’ financial systems & processes

9. Strategy
? Provide input into the operational business plan and continually re-aligning strategy to required outcomes
? Transposing Human Resource and Operational strategy into goals and objectives for the team
? Communicate plans and progress in HR and Operational management team
? Effective control of costs and impact of expenditure on budget

Qualifications
? Essential: Bachelor degree or above in business, management, or other related disciplines

Experience
? Minimum 8 years HR function work experience with 5 years or above Management role

Skills & Knowledge
? Expert in HR system, be skilled in all function work, include recruitment, training, C&B, performance evaluations and employee relationship etc.
? Able to work in a collaborative environment
? Plan and organize workload whilst accounting for changes and conflicts in priorities
? Computer literacy is essential, including intermediate MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Internet
? Fluency of English and Excellent written and oral communications skills
? Hardworking, eager to learn and strong responsibility.
