The sBU controller is a sBU MT member with a primary responsibility for control and finance. The sBU controller coordinates the financial-economic budgeting, planning and monitoring process, evaluates the trends and variances in the monthly and quarterly reporting, ensures business results are reported in compliance with AN FEM accounting guidelines and principles and monitors that business is conducted in line with business principles. The sBU controller provides detailed financial analysis regarding/investments, mergers and acquisitions and special projects (ie restructuring plans, joint ventures, license opportunities..etc). She/he is responsible for the coordination between the sBU and BU on various controlling, accounting, tax, legal and information management projects to ensure worldwide consistency and transparency. She/he is involved in all key business decisions and provides financial and fiscal advice and support (solicited and non-solicited) to the SBU operations. Responsibilities:
?Functional responsibility with regard to SBU controlling activities in all business areas: Manufacturing, R&D, Sales/Marketing, Distribution/Logistics in general, and strategic planning/forecasting/reporting, investment project evaluation, budgeting, cost control in particular.
This involves:
-Develops a framework that ensures that the SBU's long-term objectives are accomplished. This involves activities like investment project evaluation and the implementation of methods, procedures and tools, leading to (1) a set of critical success factors and control variables related to the profitability of the SBU and (2) implementation plans, both short- and long term.
-Reporting financial planning and results within the SBU and to the BU -Analyzing of actual performance in comparison with forecasts and previous years, proposing corrective action, where needed
-Ad hoc calculations and economic studies for strategic and operational decisions.
?Leads the Regional Controllers and Plant Controllers Teams worldwide within the sBU to ensure that proper planning and control processes exist and that they are consistently applied globally, so that a transparent worldwide picture can be presented.
?With respect to the registration of transactions, flows of goods and money and other accounting entries in the accounting systems a close cooperation with the Functional Chemicals Accounting team will be actively maintained
?Provides timely and adequate SBU specific input for the monthly and quarterly closing process, e.g. related to provisions, legal and insurance claims
?Guides and coordinates the SBU interests in contacts and relations with functional departments within the BU and Corporate. This includes typical financial issues such as in- and external audits, subsidies, treasury, tax and insurance issues, but also functional areas such as Purchasing, IM, Legal affairs and HR.
?Guides and supports the process of Code of Conduct, Compliance and Letters of Representation within the SBU; guards the overall process of being in control in all aspects Quality information systems and structures (Arranging for the) drawing up of sBU-information plans,in cooperation withof the BU IM. Ensures continuous improvement of working processes, structures and systems. Selects appropriate management tools for monitoring and improving performance. Participates in (cross-functional) projects and optimizes procedures and working relationships with other professions/functional areas.
AO/IC and In Control Optimizes and safeguards effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls and assures compliance with In Control (as long as within power of the function). Leadership Create an environment enabling staff to realize and improve results within their own job and within the department and sBU. Ensure a focus on improving financial results within the agreed upon strategy. Staff will be notified about their direct contribution to these results and will be empowered to improve this contribution within the job (“own responsibility”) as in the relevant department/sBU (“shared responsibility”).
Practise delegation agreements with, coach staff and assess performances. Guarantee optimal communication of decisions and decision-making processes to and from the own staff. Continuously improve information exchange and meeting structures. Requirements:
Theoretical qualifications and practical experience
? University Degree in Economics or equivalent.
? Above 10 years financial experience
