Job Description:
As part of a multidisciplinary product development team the Senior Pneumatic Electro-Mechanical Designer will collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to create innovative products and solutions.

The designer will participate in the development of a technical approach that meets project requirements and take the lead on the creation of 3D Solidworks CAD models, 2D design packages and prototypes.

Responsibilities:

? Work as a key part of the product realization team, providing technical approach and mechanical designs that meet or exceed the established product requirements.

? Create advanced 3D models, 2D part drawings, assemblies and BOMs in preparation for prototyping, quotation and manufacturing utilizing Solidworks software.

? Research and evaluate mechanical and electro-mechanical materials, components, assemblies, manufacturing and testing procedures, and processes and/or equipment.

? Manage vendors and in-house resources to produce and assemble prototypes for design review, fit-up and design verification testing.

? Participate in prototype and pilot testing to ensure products meet requirements and design intent.

? Release document controlled design packages for quote, tooling and manufacturing using established ECN processes.

? Collaborate with quality, regulatory and manufacturing in the design transfer and pilot production of new product.

? Mentor junior members of the team to enhance and grow capabilities of the organization.

Qualifications:

? Associates degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent

? 8+ years related work experience including project level mechanical design authority with solid experience in electro-mechanical Valve and Pump design

? Advanced 3D modeling skills using Solidworks with a proven ability to work with large models, complex shapes and surfaces

? Advanced 2D skills in the creation and revision of part prints including accurate dimensioning and setting reasonable tolerances of complex parts and assemblies

? Strong Mechanical design skills for pneumatic applications and components.

? Electrical design skills for electro-mechanical products especially on application of magnets, wiring and motor.
? Knowledge and experience in tool design and tool build, plastics injection, sheet metal fabrication, electronic packaging (circuit board level), cables, connectors and other mechanical components along with the ability to evaluate new materials and processes

? Hands on prototyping experience with the ability to assemble electro-mechanical prototypes that match production level fit, function and finish

? Strong document management abilities – history of working in document controlled and/or regulated environment

? Desire to create products that change lives and to work with a team measures success by its ability to do what we say we will do when we say we will do it

? Team player with positive can-do attitude and high ethical standards

? Good written and spoken English communication CET6
