Position Description:
Nextern is seeking a creative and dedicated manufacturing engineer with experience in medical device manufacturing and electro-mechanical products to lead production engineering and manufacturing efforts at our growing Shenzhen ISO 13485 assembly facility.
This position reports to the Director of China Operations.
The Sr. Manufacturing Engineering has direct reports in manufacturing engineering and must show leadership skills and collaboration with supply chain, R&D Engineering, production and quality.
As a leader and team member, the Sr. Manufacturing Engineering shares goals and cooperates with other department leaders to develop and manufacture industry leading electro-mechanical products and medical devices.
The ideal candidate for this position must have the technical knowledge, experience and leadership ability to unite design, manufacturing engineering, supply chain and quality to promote a cooperative and productive work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
? Set Direction and Department Goal and Task Setting for New Product transitions to manufacturing
? Design and Develop Manufacturing Processes, tools, and fixtures
? Execution of Process and Equipment Verification and Validation, IQ/OQ/PQ
? Scoping and evaluation of production automation equipment.
? Execution and leading process improvements through Gage R&R, Cpk and SPC
? Understanding and implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Value Stream Mapping and 5S techniques.
? Professional protocol and report writing
? Creation and modification of manufacturing work instructions
? Work with cross function teams as required
? Leads and resolves or aids in resolution of production process problems
? Works with cross function team to maintain complaince with ISO 13485
? Complies with required regulatory agencies, FDA, CDA, CFDA
? Maintains positive attitute and collobartation will all employees, clients and suppliers.
Requirements:
? Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing / Industrial / Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent required with a Master’s degree preferred.
? Minimum 10 years related manufacturing experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
? Minimum 5 years medical device manufacturing experience including foreign medical device manufacturing for regulated products
? Superb English and Chinese written and oral communication skills
? Six Sigma certification preferred
? Strong problem solving and project management skills
? Ability to lead a team, work in a team and be an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing workplace.
? Ability to work closely with others to accomplish goals
? Ability to travel internationally (USA)
? Ability to read 2D and 3D part prints and models, electrical schematics, wire harness diagrams and BOM documents.
? Experience with process automation and medical device manufacturing tools.
? Never Give Up attitude and desire to succeed, meet deadlines and achieve goals.
? Strong people-management skills.
? Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office; ERP; CAD
