General Description:

As a member of the Controller’s Financial & Statutory Accounting organization, the individual performing this job is responsible for performing the role of Entity Accounting Leader (“EAL” hereafter) for one or multiple Dow subsidiaries.

Major Responsibilities - EAL role:

The responsibilities of an EAL covers overall data integrity of the subsidiary’s financial statements in both US GAAP and PRC GAAP, cross process coordination, account reconciliation, as well as acting as the focal point for tax operation, audits, schedules, etc. EAL will be asked to participate in various financial accounting team projects for the purpose of improving efficiencies and client satisfaction.

• Perform monthly closing activities and ensure accurate
  and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
• Ensure the integrity of the financial statements for the
  legal entity under his/her responsibility. This is achieved by performing
  and monitoring accounting procedures in compliance with local accounting
  policies,
  performing account reconciliations, analyzing trends and completing
  fluctuation analysis, account reconciliations and analyzing differences,
  follow-up on unusual items, etc.
• Act as focal point of external filing and reporting to
  government authorities such as Tax Bureau, Finance Bureau, Statistic Bureau,
  Customs, etc.
• Monitor and evaluate internal controls and ensure
  appropriate remediation of control gaps.
• Ensure timely and successful completion of the external
  audit of the financial statements by acting as focal point for
  communications with the external auditors.
• Act as consultant to other finance processes or other
  functions on financial accounting and internal control matters
• Complete year-end schedule package for US reporting.
• Ad hoc projects such as M&A, divestitures,
  liquidation, etc.

Other Requirements and Key Competencies:

• Strong communication/interpersonal skill is required.
• Strong language skill in both written and spoken
  English.
• Strategic thinking - Proactively identifies potential
  problems and vulnerabilities and collaborates with team members to define
  appropriate solutions.
• Good adaptability.
• Must demonstrate initiative and leadership competencies
  in this role.
• Must demonstrate technical accounting competency.
• Commitment to work assignment.
• Attention to details and accuracy.
• Practical experience in accounting software such as SAP
  and NC is a plus.
• Familiar with value-added-tax and enterprise income tax
  operation.

Experience and Education:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience. 3 years big four
  audit experience plus 1 year MNC in house finance experience is preferred.
• Manufacturing or trading company GL accounting
  experience is preferred.
• Accounting qualification or accounting major is a must.
