Position Summary:
The mechanical engineer will be expected to contribute to the mechanical designs and solutions for both new product development and the existing product sustaining for Thermo Fisher Scientific products.

Key Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the mechanical design, development, qualification at both individual piece part and system/sub-system assembly level in line with the company NPD process and mechanical engineering statement of work (SOW).
- Be responsible for 3D model, 2D drawing, BOMs as required per project assigned; and maintain accurate CAD data and document by using PDM system.
- Be responsible for the existing products sustaining; to ensure timely and adequate engineering support to production transferring, product localization, production line support and service support.
- Ensure that assigned mechanical design work is delivered on-time, to specification and at or below target cost by engineering plan including quality, cost, schedule and risk assessment and reports on project progress.
- Cross-function interface to sourcing, operations, quality and service team, as well as external interface to suppliers, vendors and customers
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Required:
- BSME or equivalent and with minimum 5 years of related experience, MSME is a plus.
- Proficient in the use of 3D CAD software (Solidworks)
- Mechanical design experience with sheet metal, machining, plastic and die casting parts; Understanding of the related materials and processes
- Excellent experience with transmission design and motion analysis, such as belt , gear , lead screw , motor and other driver system.
- Cooling system design experience including compressor, condenser, etc will be a plus.
- Good knowledge of safety standard or regulatory process in product development(e.g. UL/IEC 61010).will be a plus
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T); Experience of tolerance analysis is a plus.
- Understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Design of Experiment (DOE) and how to apply it to designs
- Demonstrated ability to drive solid engineering solution to complex problems
- Experience of working on a cross-functional project team (PM, system engineering, operations, quality, service…)
- Good English both verbal and written communication skills
- Good skills with Microsoft Office products.
- Motivated self starter, able to work in a team environment or individually as required

Desired:
- Proficient in the use of Solidworks
- Experience of Solidworks EPDM system
- Experience working in a MATRIX reporting environment preferred.
- Knowledge/experience of analysis instrument industrial is a plus.
- SAP, ERP skills preferred
