A. GOAL SETTING / TASKS:
· Design, set up and execution of global logistics networks for transfer to production plants as part of development and site-relocation projects in accordance with respective specific project requirements and under consideration of SEP and DPS approaches established in the company.
· This position act as key account logistics for Daimler- BBAC in China
B. PRIMARY DUTIES:
Function of project leader Logistics
Customer management
Coordinate the cooperation with customers as part of development and site-relocation projects in all issues with logistic relevance (e.g. information-technical connection of customers, emergency plans). Control the mapping of customer-specific logistics requirements within the design of global logistics networks in cooperation with the sites, quality management, purchasing, IT and development with the objective to ensure and to design in a cost-effective form the supply security of the customer over the whole product runtime.
Supplier management
Collaborate in sourcing committee during the selection of suitable suppliers. Control the supplier qualification as well as the logistical setup of suppliers to new and existing global logistics networks, creation of emergency plans in cooperation with the organizational unit Supplier Management with the objective to ensure the supply to production.
Transport management
Control the use and optimization of existing global transportation networks for development and site-relocation projects, as well as the construction of project-specific new transportation networks for the overall internal and external logistics (transport from supplier to Draexlmaier, internal transport, transport to customers) in cooperation with the Transport Department with the objective to ensure the supply security and a time and cost-efficient material flow.
Container management
Selection of containers and warehouse equipment for development and site-relocation projects
in cooperation with the Container Planning Department for a cost-efficient use of warehouse capacities, in order to ensure ergonomic handling at affected workstations and in order to meet the customer- and supplier-specific requirements.
Customs management
Coordinate the customs project requirements with the central customs office with the objective to identify the possibilities of optimization and design for project processes and to create the information technology related conditions in order to meet the respective valid international customs requirements as part of development and site-relocation projects.
Cooperation Logistics and Production
Organization of workshops with Production for system introduction and for the development of common solutions in order to optimize the cooperation of Logistics and Production as part of development and site-relocation projects using SEP and DPS approaches. Coordinate the common design of Supply Chain systems, Production supporting systems, JIT and JIS systems.
Project management
Preparation of planning and organization for development and site-relocation projects for the discussion with the Main Project Leader. Control its implementation after approval by the Management.
Site decisions
In cooperation with the Main Project Leader, preparation of site decisions from a logistic view, based on internal, supplier and customer specific requirements, especially the determination of logistics costs, the creation of profitability analysis, the elaboration of decision matrices and the recommendations for action for Management. Control its implementation after approval by Management.
Budget and Reporting
Preparation, coordination and monitoring the compliance of project cost planning approved by Management; in case of TARGET/ACTUAL deviations, initiation of corrective actions. Creation and commenting of project reports to the Main Project Leader and other authorized internal and external on the cost and budget data prepared by Controlling.
Personnel management
Lead and motivate technical subordinates within the project organization, regarding the agreed policies and powers; in case of performance or general problems eventually in coordination with the line manager or escalation.
Function of logistic key account manager to Daimler-BBAC
· Systematically and continuously considers actions to minimize risks, failure possibilities during project phase
· Coordinate cross-functional activities between DRX-plants, customer and suppliers
· Cooperation and leadership of interdisciplinary teams, of new vehicle projects and of optimization project for improving / optimizing the existing processes
· Define material flow standards, warehouse structure and budget needed to implement new projects with a lean manufacture approach.
· Setup and support of standards and guidelines for Logistics
· Develop and implement innovative solutions in the material handling field, internal supply loops, warehousing, and customs in the whole supply chain.
· Share and document best practices in the lesson learned database
· Promotes teamwork and apply the C4P leadership model.
· Support logistics operations teams as necessary
· Takes care of all customer logistics related issues and inquiries. Channelizes all logistics relevant high level communication between Dräxlmaier Beijing area, Daimler-BBAC and Tier 1.

· Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent professional training.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in the area of Logistics/SCM, experience in the automotive industry or within DRX group desirable
· Project management
· Process oriented and interdisciplinary work
· Identify and analyze business correlations
· Application of SEP rules
· Application DPS philosophy
· Lean Manufacturing concepts, management skills, leadership and problem solving skills, assertive and responsible; able to work independently. Team player and able to influence and support others. Fluent in English, Chinese and German a plus.
