The Quality Supervisor’s responsibility includes but is not limited to:

Reports to the Plant Manager

1. Leader of all quality control

· Resolve routine quality issues that are identified by inspection personnel.

· Maintain up to date inspection data and ensure that all SPC charts are completed and reacted to on a daily basis.

· Provide training to all production inspection personnel to ensure that they are proficient and qualified to handle individual job assignments.

· Assist Manufacturing Engineer to ensure that all operators are properly trained to perform their inspection functions.

2. Initiate product and process quality improvements

· Assist Manufacturing Engineer with process improvement activities.

· Monitor process capability.

· Analyze production data and SPC charts to determine, suggest, and initiate processing improvements.

· Champion product and process improvement team efforts

3. Responsible for daily production inspection activities

• Issue the inspection instructions for inspection personnel related with production
• Ensure that manufacture personnel are properly trained to conduct the first/last pieces inspection and that is being done on a daily basis.
• Check the quality records to ensure that all data collection is being done and SPC charts are up to date if applicable.
• Address the concerns of inspection personnel with regard to their inspection /quality responsibility and that appropriate actions are taken.
• Conduct product full dimension inspection per quality system requirement.

4. Champion of problem solving activities for internal, external quality issues.

· Initiate containment actions and interim preventive measures when internal, external quality issues have occurred. Protected customer from shipment of defective product.

· Issues formal “Quality Alert” to appropriate personnel.

· Develop and conduct cross-functional team to investigate root cause.

· Track progress of problem resolution via corrective action plan and 8D reporting.

· Ensure that corrective action addresses root cause

· Verify that final corrective actions were implemented and problem has been properly resolved before closing of 8D.

· Maintain the records of all open and closed corrective action activities for the plant.

5. Participate in APQP and PPAP

· As an active team member to provide assistance to cross-functional teams regarding new products and processes being developed for the plant.

· Leader for Control Plans, assist for the development of process flow, PFMEA and other required APQP documentation.

· Gather required data for capability studies at new process run off. If required, provide assistance for parts trial running.

· Provide input and assistance with development of gauges and final R&R studies associated with new product development.

· Prepare the PPAP documents for customer release.

· Leader the approval for supplier PPAP documents.

6. Indirect Material Purchasing

· Lead to draft the RFQs for indirect material purchasing with support from ME and other department.

· Collect the quotations and present it to management team for approval;

· Negotiate the price and support to issues the POs to vendors.

· Take part in the final acceptance for all indirect material purchasing.

· Management the purchasing docs.

7. General Quality Control Tasks

• Maintain a clean, neat and organized work environment.
• Assists Manager in day-to-day managerial duties

· Complete occasional random duties assigned by manager.

· Gather required inspection and quality data for the monthly quality letter.

• Manage all quality documents, records.
• Performs customer visits as scheduled or as needed.
• Performs supplier visits as scheduled or as needed
• Performs special assignments as delegated or as required by customers or suppliers

8. Other duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS:

Academic:

·Bachelor degree in mechanical engineer or metrology with concentration in quality and statistics

Experience

·Minimum 3 years experience of automotive machining/assembly processes, at least 1 year management experience.
·Familiarity with ISO TS16949 quality system requirements. Familiar with Ford Q1 requirement have priority

·Have the analytical skills necessary to do root cause investigation

·Experienced in the use of the various inspection tools to control the quality of the product

·Required experience of automotive process audit, control plans, PFMEA, operator instructions

·Familiar with gage design and use

·Able to interpret drawings, CMM reports, GD&T, use various statistical tools such as SPC, Pareto analysis and calculate process capability. Practical experiences in PSW, PPAP, SPC, APQP, and Customer/Supplier relations, as well as ability to report are desirable

·Ability to lead and motivate teams; Good communication and interpersonal skills

·Good English in both spoken and written
