Position: Application Engineer

Role Summary

Application Engineers are the primary technical resource for the sales force, and are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. Working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate, the Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of
the sales process. The Application Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.


Key Responsibilities:

？ Development and ongoing Management of an efficient Applications Department to provide system engineering solutions for AGV Projects, within agreed budgetary constraints
？ Develop automated material handling system featuring AGVs and possibly other automation equipment as needed.
？ Management of the project proposal development, costing and approval process
？ Communicate and Coordinate activities and resource with all interacting departments
？ Represent the company and its values at all time.

Specific Duties:

？ Provide high quality System solution support for all Asia sales teams
？ Develop detailed sales cost estimates for all firm system proposals
？ Provide standardization to all Asian proposal documentation and development tools (costing, vehicle calculations etc.)
？ Validation of all project delivery schedules quoted as part of a firm quotation
？ Interface and share knowledge with other department especially Sales, Application and engineering to capitalize on “lessons learned”
？ Ensure that regular Design reviews are conducted on all sales projects
？ Work with Sales Managers to provide a high quality sales “product”
？ Assist in Customer presentations and technical discussion
？ On Contract award, delivery of a comprehensive project handover to the project management team
？ Develop detailed planning tools to ensure that labour is efficiently deployed and that cost is minimized.
？ Implement and manage departmental procedures and practices and ensure that they are incorporated within the Company Quality manual
？ Continually review new techniques and technology and ensure that the design of JBT AGV’s takes advantage of all possible changes to improve efficiency and or performance
？ Lead regular meetings to communicate with all interfacing departments to discuss issues, requirements and forecast.
？ Through formal and informal channels promote personal ownership, achievement and improvement for all staff
？ Assist in the identification and implementation of operational cost savings
？ Other reasonable tasks which may from time to time be requested by the European Sales Director
？ Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and objectives.
？ Identify customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future growth
？ Travel may be required for up to 20% to support the Sales team and our customers’ needs.
？ Collaborate with customer, sales, engineering and application to develop strong customer proposals.

Qualification and Experience
？ BA/BS in Engineering or equivalent successful experience in a similar role and industry
？ Extensive relevant experience is essential.
？ Proficiency in Microsoft package
？ A solid understanding of the Sales process
？ Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
