Edscha Automotive Technology (hereafter EAT) is R&D location and headquarter of Asian operations for Edscha Group.
The Position
The Information Technology Manager manages and provides hardware and software maintenance, training and consultation, and recommendations about future planning and development of resources. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources.
Job Description:
1. Planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting regional IT infrastructure.
2. Implements network security at the regional level as established by corporate Security Director.
3. Oversees the administration and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure
4. Manages and develops upgrades to the company's telephone system at the regional level.
5. Oversees all telephone changes, including routing for seating assignments.
6. Oversees troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary.
7. Works with project teams from headquarters to implement global IT strategy
8. Oversees all help desk activities at the regional level.
9. Responds to escalated help desk issues.
10. Interacts with internal clients on all levels to help resolve IT-related issues and provides answers in a timely manner.
11. Builds and maintains vendor relationships and manages the purchase of hardware and software products taking into account existing framework agreements and defined standards.
12. Manages the purchasing of all software, hardware and other IT supplies at the regional level.
13. Ensures that company assets are maintained responsibly
14. Initiates and implements improvements in all areas of IT responsibility.
15. Serves as main point of contact on all IT-related matters
16. Responds/acts on upper-management direction
17. Identifies and provides standards for gathering information for use in trend analysis and reports information to company management
18. Control the computer systems budgets and expenditures
19. Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software
20. Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access
21. Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system
22. Provide individual training and support on request
23. Perform other related duties as required during working hours
Candidate Profile
1. Master degree in computer sciences and minimum 5 years’ experience in leading IT position
2. Excellent organizational skills
3. Strong leadership and decision making skills
4. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
5. Understanding of complex information and requirements
6. Good prioritization skills and be flexible enough to adapt plans
7. Great IT skills combined with a good head for business
8. Ability to explain complex systems in simple terms
9. An ability to work to tight deadlines and within constraints
10. Effective verbal, presentation and listening communications skills
11. Fluency in English (verbal and writing)
12. Basic knowledge of the German or Spanish language would be recognized as a further asset
13. Ability to travel within China and abroad
