Sourcing Specialist:

Reporting initially to the Sourcing/Merchandizing Manager

Job Description:

· Find and validate potential suppliers by their manufacturability, expertise and new technology to fulfill the requirements from the Marketing New Product Development Team.

· Quote, analyze and negotiate with potential and existing suppliers to ensure company goals.

· Identify cost reduction opportunities and drive cost savings.

Responsibilities:

· Review and understand product concept, ID rendering drawings and marketing specification, look for suitable suppliers and once identified, convey the conceptual design package and get initial commercial agreement accomplished including quotation.

· Ability to challenge quoted prices from the basis of material cost, manufacturing cost, overhead and profit margin.

· Reduction of product cost

· Act as a front line liaison between Homedics and it's potential/existing manufacturing sources

· Tracking and reporting all sourcing projects on a timely basis

· Work closely with cross-functional teams in multiple locations and coordinate with marketing, project management teams to assist to shape product spec, cost and manufacturability and ensure the project is done on schedule and budget, to effectively support New Product Development

· Define and drive cost-reduction activities

· Oversee and manage supplier performance in every aspect-engineering capability, on-time delivery, quality, cost and service.

Position Requirements

· Four Year Bachelor's degree in a sourcing or engineering discipline

· Minimum 5 years sourcing/merchandising experience in Consumer Electronic Products or Home Appliances industries with a multinational company in China or Asia

· Experience in New Product Development and price negotiation will be of 1st priority

· Familiar with US Market, with US Buying Office experience will be an advantage

· Familiar with supply base in China with manufacturing operations (OEM) or international subcontract manufacturing operations (CEM/EMS)

· Strong experience and knowledge of material, component, product, tooling and manufacturing processes.

· Skillful to manage multiple sourcing projects, including project definition, prioritization, planning, implementation and control.

· Strong experience with supplier identification, evaluation, qualification and follow up

· Extensive current experience, and successful track record as sourcing specialist

· Highly motivated individual who can work independently; detail oriented with excellent follow up skills.

· Fluency in Mandarin and English language skills a must (written and verbal)

· Interpersonal skills - exceptional listening, understanding, influencing and communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills - politically astute

· Travel is required in South China and extensively to all over the country

· Ability to work hard under pressure. aggressive, outgoing and honest

· Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
