POSITION: General Manager - China
REPORTS TO: President- CEO
LOCATION: Shanghai (Qingpu)

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Operational or manufacturing experience
2. Industrial background
3. Worked in China with a MNC at least 10 years in a manufacturing environment.

Summary of Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the overall operation including profitability and future development.
2. Primarily responsible for the overall leadership and management of the business unit, including production and planning, engineering, finance, operations, and human resources.
3. Responsible for establishing objectives, monitoring performance, managing budgets and controls and recruiting and retaining employees
4. Acts as the legal head of each business entity within the region including acting as member or chair of local board(s) if and as required by local law.
Major Accountabilities:
· Production and Planning
o Responsible to build and maintain operational excellence from a production standpoint. Explore new ways to improve productivity and efficiencies within plant environment. Be the champion of good ideas and competitive production practices
· Operations
o Maintains effective manufacturing, quality, and materials systems that meet customer demand in a cost-effective manner and encourage continuous improvement
o Seeks opportunities to reduce fixed costs by limiting investments to core activities
o Ensures the implementation of health and safety policies and initiatives to support divisional business practices and to meet company safety objectives
· Finance
o Ensures integrity of financial information and statements
o Ensures the soundness of the company's financial structure by review of projections for capital expenditure and financing arrangements which may result from such plans
o Manages fixed costs and the breakeven to remain profitable in down cycles of the business
· Organizational Development
o Models the culture and values of Company to all employees, including demonstrating the highest level of ethical business behavior
o Plans human resources needs for the division, recruits, retains and develops staff and employees with skills required to meet long-range business needs
o Maintains excellent employee relations and communications
o Initiates change management practices where necessary to bring Company into compliance with Corporate values and goals

Qualifications:
1. Worked in China with a MNC at least 10 years in a manufacturing environment.
2. Bachelor's Degree required; engineering preferred. MBA a plus.
3. Excellent spoken and written English; Excellent spoken and written Mandarin
4. Must be familiar with both Chinese and Western business cultures
5. Well-rounded business background-including marketing, operations, finance-with a firm understanding of P&L and balance sheet
6. Demonstrated, strong leadership and management experience by leading successful operations improvement initiatives
7. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
8. Computer skills, including financial and presentation software
9. Able to perform with honesty, integrity and at the highest level of legal and ethical standards in all business situations
10. Ability to obtain respect from all business relationships including employees, peers, customers and suppliers.
