Job Description


POSITION: Finance Controller Location: Jinan, Shandong

GRADE:

REPORTS TO: Managing Director; functional reporting relationship with Director of Finance – International Operations and Hendrickson VP of Finance


Areas of Accountability:

Acting as key business partner to the Managing Director, this role takes responsibility for planning, directing and reporting of the financial and operating performance of Hendrickson China (Jinan and Shanghai). This role will provide critical decision support over a broad range of commercial issues to meet Hendrickson China’s strategic business objectives.

This role is a key member of Managing Director’s executive staff.


Major Responsibilities:



1. Financial Planning and Analysis.
- Coordinates the development of the division’s strategic financial plans, annual financial plans , and financial forecasting
- Establishes and conducts regular financial and commercial analytics
- Establishes and maintains cost accounting, inventory control, and manufacturing analysis practices consistent with Hendrickson’s guidelines and procedures

2. General Accounting and Control
- Manages the general accounting functions of:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Payroll
- Fixed Asset Management
- Sales pricing and credit policy

3. Treasury
- Manages the treasury functions of:
- Daily Cash Management
- Credit and collections
- Financing, exchange, and other currency matters
- Legal tax requirements including tax planning
- Internatioanl tax matters in conjunction with Hendrickson International

4. Organization Development.
- Promotes implementation and transfer of best financial and accounting practices
- Attracts, retains and develops superior financial human resources
- Manages the department’s continuous improvement processes
- Effectively manages and enhances customer, audit, banking and taxation relationships

5. Information Technology
- Manages the operations’ information technology and operations management systems


Qualifications:

? CPA certification (or equivalent)
? Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Finance;
? A minimum of 10 years experience in finance in a related manufacturing business; 2-5 years experience as a business unit controller; strong cost accounting and financial controls experience required
? Demonstrated experience in attracting and developing superior financial staff
? Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
? Some travel required
? Multilingual preference for English and Chinese
? Strong general business, strategic aptitude






Initial (first six months) Objectives:

? Evaluate the effectiveness of the division financial organization and its staff.

Hendrickson is a major supplier to North American, European, Asian and Australian heavy truck and trailer OEMs, as well as many manufacturers in South America and Africa.
