Job Summary:

Execute sourcing processes, such as evaluation & selection of suppliers, negotiation & applicability of sourcing contracts with most competitive terms and conditions, contributing for the company revenue with the best possible quality, cost and delivery level (QDC); meeting customer's requirement, driving rationalization of work through a continuous improvement activities.

Key/Primary Responsibilities:

• Execute the sourcing process and supply chain development of components for Volvo CE in China, in coordination with global strategy in within other Business Units in Asia and Europe.
• Direct involvement in price, commercial terms, quality level and delivery logistics negotiations with local and global suppliers.
• Follow up supplier's quality performance and cost evolution as per sourcing strategy and company's objectives.
• Work to develop and implement total value analysis for local and global sourcing projects.
• Build supplier supply chain for components in China in accordance with Global sourcing strategy.
• Understand and apply Volvo's SEM and QDC (Quality/Delivery/Cost) processes and procedures.
• Secure and improve financial and operational KPI's and recommend business improvements.
• Complete and release monthly working reports related to the function and job results.
• Assist in planning & budgeting, provide commercial support when requested.
• Actively support continuous improvement efforts in within the organization.
• Ensure that an effective buying procedure is followed.
• Ensure that operations are not compromised due to lack of material availability.
• Ensure that savings targets are achieved for specific commodities.
• All other areas of professional business development.

Candidate Profile

Professional Experience

• Basic professional, international experience. Supply Chain / Manufacturing / and Operations experience is preferred. (Minimum 3 years of experience)
• Direct experience in sourcing processes in international operations.
• Direct experience or exposure in SAP will be a plus.

Personal Qualifications

Knowledge

• Knowledge of purchasing and sourcing process
• Knowledge of mechanical or electrical components
• Knowledge of components market sourcing channel
• Knowledge of raw material
• Knowledge of the project

Skills

• Strong desire to learn and develop sourcing business skills.
• Strong communication skills in English, additional language skills will be a plus.
• Ability to build and work with international networks.
• Analytical and communication skills.
• Negotiation skills.

Possess core competencies of Volvo

• Demonstrated commitment and experience in developing best practice, customer focused process-based organizations.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, matrix environment.

Education

• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical engineering or related major.

Languages

• Chinese (Mandarin), mother tongue.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal;
