Area of Accountability:

The Regional Service Engineer will contact Fleet/End Users, Truck and Trailer Dealers, Spring Repair Shops, Auxiliary Axle Installers, and OEM Regional Service to provide service training for all Hendrickson products and resolve any customer complaints relating to product performance. Will support Hendrickson divisions at OEMs when requested, which can be on the assembly line or with Tech Service departments.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Contact Fleet Accounts—End users to provide ongoing education and information on use, repair and maintenance of Hendrickson Product to fleet personnel. Must respond to and resolve all customer issues in a timely and effective manner.
a. Coordinate Hendrickson efforts to correct any customer complaints relating to product performance
b. Review with user Hendrickson’s recommend service procedures
c. Conduct service training for fleet maintenance personnel
d. Support and monitor test installations of components and suspension systems; provide periodic reports on performance.

2. Contact Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) Dealer (Truck and Trailer) and OEM Regional Service offices to provide ongoing education and information on use, repair and maintenance of Hendrickson’s products.
a. Contact sales manager and assist in resolving any field complaints
b. Conduct service training for dealer mechanics
c. Review with service managers the recommended service procedures
d. Review failed components
e. Keep them current on product offerings and recommended repair procedure
f. Monitor competitive activity in the marketplace

3. Contact Auxiliary Axle Installers regarding installation of Hendrickson products and to resolve any customer issues in a timely and effective manner.
a. Coordinate Hendrickson’s efforts to correct any customer complaints relating to product performance
b. Review recommended installation procedures
c. Supervise installations as required


4. Effectively manage product, customer and competitor information through administration, data gathering and communication.
a. Monitor Competitive Activity in Marketplace and report to divisions
i. Competitor data
- New product offerings
- Price trends
- Incentives
- Customer penetration
- Product performance
ii. Forecast inputs, e.g., major fleet purchases
iii. Ongoing quality, design problems
iv. Customer and product requirements
b. Develop and maintain customer files and keep Sharepoint accurate and up to date
i. Fleet Contact Report
ii. Dealer Contact Report
iii. Master Maintenance List
iv. Calendar Pad List

5. Other Duties
a. Provide technical support and education to DSMs
b. Contact Spring Repair Shops
i. Review Hendrickson’s recommended service procedure
ii. Conduct service training
iii. Resolve any customer complaints
iv. Report usage of “will fit” components
v. Identify distribution issues
vi. Obtain discounting information on Hendrickson and “will fit” parts
c. Represent Hendrickson at industry trade shows as assigned by supervisor
d. Support Hendrickson divisions at Truck or Trailer OEM as required
e. Maintain an awareness of the company[s products offerings (design considerations, performance specifications, product applications, manufacturing process, etc.) and of the marketplace (competitors’ products, competitive advantages, pricing, market trends, etc.)

Qualifications (Education, Working experience, Language, Certifications, etc.):

? Associates Degree; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
? 5+ years of field service experience in the commercial transportation industry. Experience in heavy-duty truck/trailer fleet maintenance strongly preferred. If no Associates degree, 5 additional years of experience may be substituted.
? Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills; presentation/training experience required.
? Extensive travel within an assigned region of the country is required.
