Job Summary (Purpose of Job):
Work in Engine & Auxiliaries Team, be responsible for design & development of Cooling System & Components in wheel loaders, excavators, compactors and other off-road vehicles. You are expected to be technical owner of your system/components for whole vehicle life time.

Roles of Job

1. Main Tasks/ Responsibilities / Authorities:
· 3D/2D design of cooling system and components
· Necessary calculation or simulation of cooling system
· Define and lead the verification & validation of cooling system and components
· Participate in development project reaching the requirements of regulation; customer’s satisfaction; cost effective; and timing control.
· Close cross-function cooperation with Purchasing/supplier, Manufacturing and Marketing/Service to move forward work and solve problems when meet

2. Key Skills
· Product knowledge – cooling package/cooler; air flow/fan; cooling application in off-road vehicles
· Designer competences – Cooling performance control; air flow management; thermal management inside engine compartment; cooling system verification and validation
· Designer tools (Mechanical design) – CATIA and Pro/E; PDM software; cooling simulation software
· Process/production knowledge – Manufacturing process of cooling package, cooling system installation
· Team player skill; communication skill; cross-function cooperation skill
· The skill to solve problems and make decision

· The skill to work under project procedure, to take advantage procedure to move forward work

· Strong sense of responsibility, strong self-motivation to reach target in work

Education/Professional Qualifications required for the position:
· 3+ years working experience in cooling system of vehicles, more senior people will be more preferred
· Experience of project leader, team leader, or other important responsibility will be very good plus
· Working experience in international company will be good plus
· M.Sc. in engineering or equivalent

Additional Important Requirements (e.g. language, mobility):
· Spoken and written English as working language

· Environmental, safety and legal requirements on our operations

· Willing to travel abroad

volvo construction equipment technology (china) is located in high-tech zone of jinan, shandong. volvo construction equipment jinan tech center will focus on r&d of construction equipment and components for emerging markets. it will be the first volvo construction equipment tech center in china, and the first tech center in jinan established by a world top 500 enterprise. volvo construction equipment tech center in jinan will undoubtedly play an important role in volvo construction equipment’s global r&d network, pushing volvo construction equipment’s strategic development and upgrading in china.

one of the priorities for the tech center is to build a strong r&d team comprising both local and foreign talent to bring new products to market. it is planned that up to 200 engineers could be working here by the end of 2013. volvo construction equipment jinan tech center will receive full support from volvo headquarters, especially in technology, resources, and manpower.
