Basic Purpose/Function:
The E&I Engineer will provide electrical and instrumentation technical support to the maintenance, manufacturing, and project departments. The E&I Engineer will initially focus on project activities delivering a successful green field chemical plant design and start-up. The E&I Engineer; will ensure the technical integrity of the engineering and design on assigned projects acting as the technical specialist of project activities as required. The E&I Engineer is responsible for assuring long-term safe, cost effective, and reliable electrical and instrumentation system operations. The position is responsible for providing instrument and electrical engineering expertise as required. This position may include travel up to 20% of the incumbents time.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
? The E&I Engineer will ensure proper design, installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of electrical and instrument equipment according to all local regulatory codes and company standards.
? The E&I Engineer will be the on-site liaison for any E&I improvements that are driven and/or managed externally. As such the E&I Engineer will review all projects for compatibility with the plants long-term maintenance strategy utilizing best available technology with consideration for minimized equipment life cycle costs.
? The E&I Engineer will ensure that all electrical equipment is correctly maintained, on a regular basis, as per individual vendor requirements such that all electrical equipment is safe to operate and adheres to local electrical and any company codes.
? The E&I Engineer will ensure that all instrumentation is calibrated, validated, and maintained to ensure proper product quality and a safe operating environment. This includes ISO 9000/14001 and all company PSM programs.
? The E&I Engineer will be responsible for control system programming changes as well as any recipe and/or batch changes as required by the manufacturing department. The engineer will work closely with the manufacturing department to ensure process quality and safety is maintained at all times.
? Provide liaison services between engineering and construction. Attend bid conferences or bid walks for the major subcontracts on the assigned projects. Provide bid review and scope compliance analysis of the subcontractor proposals.
? Support various aspects of global engineering standards by seeking out/understanding global Best Known Methods and implementing on a regional level

Required Skills or Abilities:
? BS Electrical Engineering Degree as a minimum. A Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
? 5+ Years of E&I engineering experience is required.
? Strong knowledge of process control in a specialty chemical batch environment would be an advantage.
? Strong knowledge of instrumentation and controls systems, low and medium voltage electrical systems is required.
? Previous knowledge and experience of Emerson DeltaV system, AMS Device Manager, Foundation Fieldbus, Asi-bus, and Wireless technologies would be an asset.
? This position also requires familiarity with planning/scheduling as well as the ability to ensure technical aspects of the project are met
? Demonstrated skills in delivering results.
? Demonstrated passion for learning new skills and tools.
? Proficient at use of computer systems (MS Office, CAD, SAP a plus)
? Fluent in English and Mandarin - speaking and writing
