Volvo Construction Equipment (VCE) Company is the wholly owned subsidiary of Volvo Group, one of the World Top 500 companies. As the third biggest construction equipment manufacturer in the world, headquarter of Volvo CE is located in Brussels, Belgium. VCE specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing mechanical equipment related with construction, with a product range including backhoe loaders, wheel loaders, excavators, articulated haulers, motor graders and compact equipment. In 2010, to better meet the needs of emerging market customers, Volvo Construction Equipment invested nearly 300 million SEK in the Tech Center in Jinan.
Volvo Construction Equipment Jinan Tech Center will focus on R&D of construction equipment and components for emerging markets. One of the priorities for the tech center is to build a strong R&D team comprising both local and foreign talent to bring new products to market. Now we are looking for talent for the below position for our Technology Centre.

Position Title: Structure and Frame Engineer(职位名称：结构工程师)
Location: Jinan ,Shandong (工作地点：山东济南)


Job Summary ( Purpose of Job ) :
Develop the load bearing structures for construction equipment such as frames and lifting units for wheel loaders, frames and booms for excavators and frames for graders and compaction equipment.
The developments are made in projects with close cooperation with both other departments, suppliers and own production which means a lot of contacts within the company as well as outside including international contacts.

Main Tasks/ Responsibilities / Authorities:
﹒ Develop parts and components with regards to functionality, cost and quality
﹒ Design parts and components using 3D Cad (Catia, SolidEdge)
﹒ Dimensioning of cast and forged designs
﹒ Design of bolted connections, rubber elements and bearings
﹒ Build part structures in PDM-system
﹒ Participate in development projects reaching targets on both time and cost
﹒ Cooperate with production and supplies to make sure the production is reliable and cost effective

Education/Professional Qualifications required for the position:

﹒ Knowledge of load bearing structures, demands and functionality
﹒ CAD, preferable Catia and SolidEdge
﹒ Understanding of strength calculations using FEM
﹒ Knowledge of production methods, mainly welding
﹒ Accustomed to working in projects
﹒ M.Sc. in engineering or equivalent

Additional Important Requirements (e.g. language, mobility):

volvo construction equipment technology (china) is located in high-tech zone of jinan, shandong. volvo construction equipment jinan tech center will focus on r&d of construction equipment and components for emerging markets. it will be the first volvo construction equipment tech center in china, and the first tech center in jinan established by a world top 500 enterprise. volvo construction equipment tech center in jinan will undoubtedly play an important role in volvo construction equipment’s global r&d network, pushing volvo construction equipment’s strategic development and upgrading in china.

one of the priorities for the tech center is to build a strong r&d team comprising both local and foreign talent to bring new products to market. it is planned that up to 200 engineers could be working here by the end of 2013. volvo construction equipment jinan tech center will receive full support from volvo headquarters, especially in technology, resources, and manpower.
