Overview:
Provide Zebra Technologies with local tooling and molding support in China. Assist with mold assessments and mold processing at supplier's facilitis. Provide US based teams with documented data regarding ongoing operations at our part suppliers.
Responsibilities:
1. Work with Suppliers to resolve technical and molding issues as they arise on both new and legacy projects.
2. Review initial DFM documents from suppliers, offer suggestions for improvements and technical support.
3. Communicate with suppliers during mold builds to achieve delivery goals and assure quality. Report status back to the NPI core teams on progress, issues and challenges.
4. Support part qualification process, assuring all tooling needs and critical to quality paramenetr are met.
5. Assist in developing, refining, and implementing design and molding strategies with suppliers.
6. Work with commodities management to identify new suppliers and perform technical assessment for mold making and molding.
7. Strive for continuous improvement in the ongoing development of our tooling and molding strategy.
8. Travel to suppliers on a regular basis should be expected.
Qualifications:
1. 5 years experience working with palstic injection molds and molding suppliers.
2. Familiar with quality processes as they relate to plastic parts such as FAI reports, CPK studies and the PPAP process.
3. Knowlege of resins and their appropriate applications.
4. Experience with troubleshooting moldsand molding processes producing complex, tightly toleranced parts at the molding machine.
5. Strong leadership skills are required. Ability to lead our suppliers in problem resolution.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and WebEX software.
7. Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese.
Experience:
5 years general tooling and molding experience. Strong project management skills along with good written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese are required. Experience in Molding process validation is preffered.
Education:
BS in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
