GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
The PDC Preform Lab technician is responsible to perform the quality validation from PET samples coming from PDC, mold audit or customer complaints. This includes: measurement of the PET preforms in the Preform Inspection Lab and performing visual inspections of PET samples of performs and/or bottles ( as applicable). All the above quality validation steps (measurement and visual) needs to be documented through the Husky standard form and stored in the VJF data base.
The PDC Preform Lab technician is also responsible for the compilation of necessary documentation (measurement reports, preform audit report) and the communication from this report to PEs, sales…
In this role, the PDC Preform Lab technician is also required to ensure a high standard of tidiness and cleanliness in the PDC & Preform Inspection Lab, by maintaining the measurement devices controlling the material inventory area, and conducting Preventive Maintenance and Calibration on measurement machines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
?Operate CNC metrology and/or other equipment to produce inspection results for any mold components
?Works with outside suppliers and sub-contractors when necessary
?Executes and assures compliance with inspection procedures, practices and processes
?Interacts with manufacturing team members to determine nature of defects and related cause area(s)
?Collects Non Conformance (NC) data and maintains and updates quality system documents, indexes and databases
?Evaluates hardware, performs laboratory procedures, inspects products, measures process performance, records data, and prepares formal reports
?Prepares and reads inspection control criteria, interpreting specifications, drawings, standards and tolerances in a GD&T format
?Understanding of inspection with GD&T (ASME Y14.5M-1994)
?Read and effectively interpret engineering drawings and schematics
?Working knowledge of inspection gauges (mechanical, electrical, etc.) used in the quality process and calibration procedures
?Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Able to express ideas in individual and group settings and work collaboratively in a team
?Advanced knowledge and experience with all applicable metrology equipment
?Prepares, updates and distributes specific quality metrics as required
?Writes and maintains quality procedures and practices
?Concept and design new inspection processes, techniques and procedures
?Supports and conducts measurement systems analysis with the use of gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) studies as required
?Conduct Preventive Maintenance and calibration on Preform inspection measurement devices
?Complete and store appropriate forms as records of Preventive Maintenance/calibration conducted in dedicated binders
?Store/ Package retained samples in the Mold Lab archive area.
?Store and clean up the PET performs in the stack storage.

TECHNICAL/PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
-Strong background in Quality
-Ability to solve most math or geometry related problems presented on most part designs
-Skilled in advanced math, basic statistics, variation and control charts (SPC)
-Good communication skills
-Basic background in PET or plastic injection molding
-Basic understanding of manufacturing processes & applications
-Ability to follow quality management practices and continuous improvement process
-Desirable qualities are sense of urgency and timeliness, decisiveness, reliability, mental toughness, self motivation, and energy
-MS office
-English

EDUCATION：
-Education in Quality or plastics
-College diploma or completion of Certified apprenticeship program and/or 3-5 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
-
RELATED EXPERIENCE：
-2 years experience in Quality or plastic injection molding
