Key Responsibilities/Areas of Accountability:

1. Responsible for the updating/refining of the application guidelinesActively participate in developing appropriate application guidelines for their area of responsibility/market segment

2. Provide application sales support to our regions, customers, including application reviews according to our guidelinesSeek necessary input from product development, peers or superiors when applications are outside of our approved guidelines; provide customers with alternatives if we don't have a standard solution.

3. Coordinate concepting, resin testing, mold flow studies, etc

4. Develop or follow feedback process for challenging applications - learn from customer input and constantly feed the information back into updated application guidelines

5. Responsible for application approval and sign off

Responsible for custom quote price and delivery for special/custom projects
Support maintenance and provide feedback for custom quote tool
Lead the kick off and design review meetings for your projects as per the guidelines
Coordinate new product follow up within market segment
Contribute with the Service Coordinator's responsibility for all application issues that occur with the customer
Act as technical resource to others in the business
Must be able to develop and maintain guidelines
Responsible for creating and submitting new application guidelines to the global application review team
Must develop and apply a margin control mechanism for custom quoted hot runner systems
Responsible for developing strategic programs, pricing, etc (Maxis, Unilever, Delphi, etc) for submission to Market Manager or Service & Sales Manager
Act as a senior advisor within Application Engineer Team
Participate in the training for new Project Engineers and Application Engineers as required
Lead continuous improvement projects as required/needed
Acquire and build an in-depth competitive knowledge matrix
Work with regional sales on discounts, package pricing deals and provide to Service & Sales Manager for approval
Integrate with global application teams
Participate in test plan development for all new products

Performance Measurements

1. Application of the correct nozzles and systems by applications approved (i.e. minimize incorrect applications)

2. Project margins (targets vary with product family)

3. Customer and regional feedback to be obtained in regards to application support, professionalism and know-how.

4. Recognized excellent teamwork capability within the business.

5. Maintain a clean rate of 95%

6. Review and update application guidelines

7. Prepare and present technical presentations

8. Author technical articles

Technical/Professional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: If appropriate, identify the specific technical/professional skills, knowledge and abilities required or preferred for this job (e.g. strong project management skills; strong interpersonal skills; report writing skills, negotiation skills, etc.)

· Must understand the plastic injection molding technology

· Must be skilled at preparing and delivering presentations

· Must be willing to travel as required

· Must be well organized to include the ability to schedule multiple resources and activities

· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office

· Must be proficient in BAAN

· Must be the expert know-how for the hot runner systems, able to advise customers on an expert level about applications

· Must develop excellent know-how skills in area of responsibility (market segment)

· 5+ years of in-field service or molding process experience is required

Must have excellent demonstrated project management and organizational skills

· BS in Mechanical Engineering or Plastics is preferred

Related Experience (Indicate required and/or preferred experience for this job.)

2+ years of project management in a manufacturing environment
5+ years of in-field service or molding process experience is required
