General Purpose of Job

1、Product Innovation: Develop new products / applications to meet customers’ requirements for new and improving formulation in Coating, Home & Personal Care and other industries.   

2、Project management: Manage multiple projects from beginning to end, initiating, processing, evaluating, and delivering the result.

3、Proficiently communicating with internal and external stakeholders: align business strategy with commercial team, communicate with regional and global tech team to share knowledge and resource, and support customers from lab to manufacture, to deliver products / offers value proposition.

4、Ability to plan, manage and prioritize technical activities to ensure that they are completed within time and cost targets and meet business and market needs.

  

Prioritized Essential Functions and Responsibilities

· Safety

Operate laboratory running & technical service activities fully compliance with both local policies and IVL’s EHS requirements, also maintain continuous improvement in safety performance.

· Skills and responsibilities

1、Ability in creating standard operating procedures and project guidelines are in place. Ensure operating correct procedures, policies and documentation requirements across project phases. Able to develop, test, implement and review the completed work effectively and timely.

2、Efficiently manage projects end to end. Project scheduling and resource management in line with requirements. Planning, budgeting and reporting on projects.

3、Provides technical expertise in design, development and systems integration. Identify resource and equipment requirements, efficient capacity planning and manage systematic availability.

4、Meet with customers and gather their requirements, conduct regular team meetings and track project progress.

5、Understands project requirements, coordinate with resources and direct the projects in the right direction in a timely manner. Make presentations on project status, present regular reports to senior management level also circulated to relevant associates.

· Delivery of R&D project

1、Identify value proposition and develop application data for market extension with existing product and/or new product promotion in line with business objectives.

2、Applies significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to customers engagement from definition phase through implementation.

3、Capabilities in addressing system deficiencies, good at troubleshooting, developing and implementing on effective solutions. Suggesting alternative solutions to meet customer’s requirements more efficiently.

4、Investigate customer needs and develop in-depth understanding of industry technology development trends, work closely with global/regional synthesis team to develop new products and new technology to meet market needs.

· Technical support for regional business development

1、Effectively conveys messages in both written and verbal business development discussions. Leads proposal efforts including completing project scoping.

2、Develop and foster relationships with strategic customers through high quality technical service activities. Identify and foster join-development opportunities with high potential customers by using global product portfolio and application technology.

3、Maintain close working relationships with regional commercial team and distributors, provide sufficient support in technical inquiries feedback, product training, joint customer call, etc.

4、Contribute to business promotion through actively participate company or industry seminar, roadshow, etc., and develop product promotion tools together with marketing team. 

Education and Experience                                                                                                                                                        1、Advanced degree, preferably Master or PhD degree in surface science or colloid chemistry, surfactants or other chemical-related fields.

2、Minimum 5 years industrial experiences in surfactant development or application related area.

3、Good team spirit is required.

4、MNC company working experience is preferable. 

Specific Skills and Abilities

1、Proficient of both English and Mandarin orally and written.

2、Significant knowledge of surface science, in particularly, the surfactant chemistry. Familiar with the applications of surfactants in various industries, proficient in related performance testing items. Working experience in Coating formulations is preferable.

3、Ability to have skilled interface with customers for problem solving and explore new opportunities through lab projects. Defines customer requirements and effectively communicate technical matters to customers.

4、Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

5、Ability to work in collaborative harmony with other laboratories and site personnel so as to effectively utilize all resources available.

6、Ability to establish good working relationships with commercial, marketing and production colleagues to maximize communication and understanding to avoid and eliminate road blocks.

7、Ability to summarize activities such that they can be reported to the business group either verbally or in concise readable technical reports.
