JOB DESCRIPTION:

? Providing technical expertise in the functional design and implementation of process automation applications: such as process control strategies, Human-Machine-Interface design, Manufacturing Execution System applications and KPI development
? Identifying and developing cost/benefit analysis for potential new projects.
? Implementing APC applications: which will include developing the design, performing detailed engineering activities, collaborating with various stakeholders to implement the applications and providing training
? Sustaining APC applications, analyzing and tracking performance, identifying and correcting problems, developing and providing additional training when required.
? Providing leadership on project teams: which will include assisting with developing project approval packages, participating in approval review meetings, developing packages for contractors/vendors and performing contractor selection
? Troubleshooting process control problems and identifying causes and make recommendations for improvements and/or implement improvements.
? The overall continuous improvement of project execution and sustainment practices, ensuring alignment with other automation disciplines.
? Evaluating new developments in advanced process control technology.
? Maintaining an overview of APC activities in the region and sharing know how and acting as expert in the field on a regional or global level.
? Participating in global teams and regional CoE's.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

? Bachelors' Degree or Masters' Degree in Chemical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
? 10+ years' experience in an Operations or Process Control environment.
? Strong technical knowledge in Advanced Process Control engineering and control systems.
? Strong technical knowledge in the fundamentals of unit operations, such as (batch) reactors, distillation towers, heat exchangers and extraction processes.
? Strong technical knowledge in the fundamentals of controls engineering and controls systems, and a basic knowledge of the various types of pressure, level, temperature, and flow instrumentation.
? An understanding of plant process control and advanced process control techniques and how they can be applied to monitor, control and/ or improve plant performance.
? An understanding of field instrumentation and control valve functionality.
? Experience with the multiple DCS platforms.
? Strong communication skills, computer skills, and organizational skills.
