Position: Senior / Junior Business Developer
Location: Beijing/Shanghai
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and developing long-term, integrated, waste management contracts and will lead to the pursuit of new business opportunities by establishing strong relationships with existing and potential clients:
Identify potential customers and develop relationships with key decision makers in the client organization in order to assess opportunities with the company
Promote corporate business and image through developing and cultivating the relationship between corporate and targeted and prospective clients
Provide professional advice and suggestions to corporate and business leaders on government initiatives, policies/regulations, projects
Be able to collect public and official information from right channels on time and make correct analysis/judgment and muster government resources to help key business projects/strategies and in crisis management
Keep tracking of regulatory and policy changes, current and emerging issues, understand their potential impact on business and build corresponding strategies to support business
Conduct research and analysis into future plans and needs of targeted clients or agencies
Manage and participate in proposal preparation, pricing and presentations to customers
Formulate and write initial technical proposals reflecting the strategic approach towards developing a new project
Assist the proposal team to develop winning proposals and represent corporate in customer presentation, clarification and negation activities
Must serve as a close liaison with other members in the proposal team (operations, finance, legal, insurance, risk management, etc.) throughout the entire sales process
Work cooperatively with project management, marketing, finance, contracts, legal and executive management to maximize organizational involvement to develop winning bids
Assess competitor strengths, weaknesses and strategic direction
Responsible for tracking targets in corporate tracking system and developing and presenting senior management reviews of opportunities
Prepare and distribute monthly market overview reports with analysis of current trends and opportunities
Position Requirements
Bachelors degree above in business, marketing or related discipline
5+ years’ experience within waste management or environment services related industry preferred
Knowledge in project developing, tender process & contract closing
Knowledge in China’s government/regulatory bodies, especially for Guangdong & Southern China
Hands-on project experience working directly with clients
Good social networking, lobbying and interpersonal skills, excellent command of both oral and written English
Ability to demonstrate high energy, integrity, and track record of over-performance
