Job Description
Eaton China is looking for a SAP Developer with technical expertise across SAP ABAP. ABAP Analyst will be part of the SAP support team reporting into the Lead Analyst – SAP Technical Support, EITC . The primary objective of SAP developer position is to trouble shooting & fixing of incidents, development for small requests, code and design review, incident updates in remedy for SAP ABAP ; should be flexible working in 2 shifts and on call supports. Involves working independently and/or on teams, working with peers, functional team, other application teams and at times with end customers of Eaton in development as per SAP standard practices and guidelines.
This position is of SAP Technical Profile, which requires expertise in any 2 of the development areas like SAP ABAP, SAP Script, Smart Forms, Adobe forms, Userexits, BADI, enhancement spots and Workflow; well versed with integration/interfaces with other third party applications;
Should have expertise knowledge & hands-on experience in following Technical Competencies:
- ABAP Development
- Forms Development – Adobe Forms, SAPScript, Smartforms
- Exposure to one of Integration technologies– PI, ALE, IDoc
- Userexits, BADI, enhancement spots
- Exposure on interfaces using IDOC/File, Transfer/Proxy
- Exposure to 1-2 of the following SAP modules: MM, SD, PP, FICO, WM
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency working in ECC 4.7 as well as ECC 6.0. To coordinate and communicate development/incidents/requests status, production remedies queue status update; handle escalations; and ensure alignment between the sector goals, IT strategy, and prioritization of projects, Incidents and Requests. Work with SAP Functional Analysts for Support and request to review Functional Specification and subsequently produce technical requirements documents. Technical specifications would include program specifications, file descriptions, screen designs, record layouts, report layouts and workflows.
Should be expert in efficient coding, adherence to development standards and a global mindset are all followed throughout the development/ Incident management cycle. Contributes to the creation and maintenance of development standards, processes, guidelines and procedures.
Responsible for developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise-wide application systems on our strategic ERP platforms. Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Change Management standards and guidelines. Share he’s/her knowledge within the team. Demonstrate flexibility working in parallel on multiple tickets across US/ APAC and EMEA time zone.
Primary Functions:
A. Will manage incidents/requests and changes by troubleshooting and bug-fixing/development of Interfaces, Reports, Conversions, Extensions, Workflow, Forms using SAP development technologies. Expert trouble-shooter and proven expertise as a production support specialist.
B. Deliver incident, request and change within EATON specified SLAs and updates to stakeholders in timely manner
C. Should be fluent in Chinese/mandarin & Will provide production support as needed to address custom and standard development issues
D. Will deliver in small requests around the globe by development of Interfaces, Reports, Conversions, Extensions, Workflow, and Forms using SAP development technologies.
E. Will continually learn new advanced development technologies and programming techniques to provide value to our business by enhancing self-knowledge and capability.
F. Will provide excellent quality code as well as excellent documentation including unit test scripts and results. Will Maintain zero impact through regression testing in the global environment
H. Will mentor, train and guide members on the support team member
I. Will maintain a global mindset during the support process to ensure that the development/fixes will have no impact on global functionality.
J. Participate in improvements to applications and processes in order to decrease incidents and maintain quality. (Demonstrates Problem Management Expertise)
K. Participate in continuous improvements on in-scope support initiatives.
L. Participate in application upgrades by testing and documenting functionality in conjunction with Functional analysts.
M. Stays current with Technology trends in Information Technology advancements
N. Proven competency in presentation, training, documentation and support
O. Proficient in estimating and scheduling tasks for self
Basic Qualification:
o Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution/MCA/SAP ABAP certifications
o Minimum of 4+ years of experience with SAP ABAP modules
o Minimum of 2+ Support project experience
DIMENSIONS:
o Good team player, self-motivating and committed with an ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
o Meet or exceed targets set for following measures:
? SLA Compliance All Requests & Incidents
o Managing Shifts with members who are not direct reports – matrix organization
o Customer satisfaction scores within SLA.
Note: above targets and/or goals are revised year on year. Individual will need to adopt and work towards achieving targets set out by the organization.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
. Must have expertise technical knowledge of SAP ECC 2-3 across multiple SAP modules using ABAP, SAPScript/Smartforms, LSMW etc
. Must have extensive knowledge of trouble shooting Production scenarios using ABAP technologies
. Should be versed with Data load technologies and strategy
. Must have extensive knowledge of integrations with other critical applications within the Eaton landscape
. Ability to take direction and work independently
. The person holding this position will often times (weekly) work extended hours to have meetings with India/US sites as well working in shifts/weekends/holidays to support business on need basis
. Should have good communication and interpersonal skills.
. Should be able to interact and manage customers independently and Strong service management skills as per ITIL framework.
