FUNCTION: Purchasing
POSITION TITLE: Gear/Shafts Commodity Manager, AGCO China Operations
REPORTS TO: Purchasing Manager



I. POSITION PURPOSE:

This position is created to manage Gear/Shaft Commodity for AGCO China Operations. The qualified person for this position is responsible to develop supply base which is cable of meeting AGCO quality, capacity and supply chain expectation. The qualified Commodity Manager should be able to meet department targets and be able to work in cross-functional environment with global vision and global corporate objectives. The candidate should have background in multinational companies with extensive knowledge in purchasing, manufacturing or SQE. Localization experience in automotive industries or agricultural equipment is preferred in order to achieve AGCO China Operations objectives.


II. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY: KEY MEASUREMENT:

? Manage Sourcing Process within project cost and timing targets ? On time PPAP approval; costs vs. targets
? Select right suppliers according to capabilities / part fit / commodity strategy (new following the New Supplier Approval Process) ? RFT
? Analyze costs / supplier quotes ? Correctness of cost analysis
? Set-up Technical Reviews ? Time between Pre-SC and TR
? Prepare transparent sourcing decisions ? Completeness and correctness of sourcing proposal and alternative quotes
? Drive project implementation after kick-off pro-actively and cross-functionally until parts are PPAP approved ? On-time PPAP approval, RFT
? Negotiate effectively, including good preparation ? Quality / process of negotiation preparation and conduct
? Review and communicate supplier performance according to defined KPIs and drive improvements ? KPI improvements
? Implement annual saving targets ? Savings vs. target



III. FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE:

The candidate should have in depth knowledge of

? Project development
? Manufacturing operations and processes
? Supplier evaluation
? Cost management
? Supply Chain Management
? Price negotiation skills
? Commodity knowledge
? Experience in automotive companies or agricultural equipment manufacturing


IV. BUSINESS EXPERTISE:

The candidate should be well versed in operations of major international companies with complex manufacturing and purchasing requirement. The candidate should also have good understanding of agriculture industries, agriculture machinery OEM or other related industries.

This position has no direct reports


VI. PROBLEM SOLVING:

Problems can be solved by 1) discussion and negotiation with suppliers using facts, market information, leverage, and persuasion 2) build multi-functional support to gain agreement 3) timely involvement of management and gain support by good communications.

The position has impact to both internal and external customers. Having a lower cost will benefit AGCO’s profit and gain competitive advantage to allow customer to enjoy lower cost and take market share away from competitors

The position requires very strong interpersonal skills as he/she will need to build strong and lasting relationship with 1) supplier partners 2) multi-functional group within AGCO 3) other functions within the China Sourcing Organization 4) team members



X. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :
Indicate the qualifications and number of years experience required, including areas that are industry specific.

? min. 3 years purchasing experience for machined parts incl. castings in agriculture or heavy duty industry
? very good understanding of machining processes incl. machining of castings
? very good communication skills
? very good cost analysis skills
? very good negotiation skills
? very good written and oral English
? min. Bachelor in Engineering
