Reports to :	CEO/President
Location:	Shanghai

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop a funnel of new products/Technologis study; target companies for acquisition; license agreements for key technologies and alliances with important players that will assist Cathay realize its medium or long term strategies.

2. Sourcing and select new technology and technology partners for company biotech and renewable polymer business.

3. Represent the company on a technical basis to its long term customers for its long chain diacids and new diamines and polyamides.

4. Represent the company at technical conferences and exhibits.

5. Assist with transfer of new technology to the company's production facilities in China.

6. Assist China engineers and scientists with sourcing international technology.

7. Advise on company IP portfolio.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Education – Bsc degree above in Chemical, Chemical engineering or Microbiology, with dual degree in sound business/ commercial education is preferred

Work experience – 10 years above solid Business Development experience in the field of Chemical , biochemical or biopolymer industry

1. High integrity and professionalism, commitment to deliver high quality results

2. The ability to triangulate market information into well defined market screens; the candidate must be data driven.

3. The ability to develop, to manage and to drive a BD process that becomes standard work within the company: in terms of identifying targets and finalizing agreements.

4. Strategic thinker, ability to grasp ideas quickly; have “big picture” but also attentions to details

5. Excellent interpersonal skills, highly effective written and verbal communication skills, and good negotiation skills and public speaking skills

Language:

English language a must, with Chinese language prefered.
