职位描述

I. POSITION PURPOSE:
? This position supports and often leads the Supplier Development (SD) and early-stage qualification process supporting global programs, best cost country (BCC), new product introduction (NPI), and the global commodity strategy. The position plans, organizes and executes early-stage supplier approvals and process qualifications with companies based in core (assigned) operating region to close capability gaps based on Supplier Readiness Review (SRR+) and Technical Process Audit (TPA) results. He/she also organizes quality and cost focused SD projects at focus suppliers to improve quality and cost / pricing, in collaboration with Supplier Cost Analysts (SCAs) and Commodity Buyers / Managers. Supplier development is a mandatory requirement to increase supplier success by improving supplier readiness, process capabilities, and enhancing supplier innovation. The commodity focus is Hydraulics, including valves, tubes, hoses, fittings and parts cleanness expertise. So the SDE must be a process expert in this area with 10-15 years’ experience in Engineering or Manufacturing with a company producing hydraulic parts.


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY:
? Assessment of potential and/or current suppliers operations and process capabilities including production capacity, tooling and cost management, and core quality system requirements
? Early stage supplier assessments
? Gap closure vs. SRR audit and TPA results within corrective action plan target dates
? Conduct process, product and tooling audits
? ISIR & PPAP capabilities
? Development of Suppliers – Using expertise to drive change and methodology improvements.
? Development of processes for quality, cost reduction and on-time delivery. Analyze KPI data and determine appropriate actions for improvement
? Organize quality and cost focused SD projects at focus suppliers to improve quality and cost / pricing
? On-time project completion and quality and/or price improvements from SD projects vs. targets
? Understand AGCO’s policies, vision, goals and overall strategy
? Alignment with corporate mission
? Coordinate SD efforts with key AGCO stakeholders: Purchasing, Logistics, Quality (SQE), Engineering, and Manufacturing
? Achievement of regional goals: launch dates, cost savings, RFT %, etc.


II. FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE:
- Expert knowledge in core manufacturing processes for aligned commodities
- Strong technical (engineering) background required with exposure across aligned commodities.
- Expert in part qualification in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), supplier audits and supplier corrective actions issue resolution
- Strong Experience with multi-cultural supplier base and production methods
- Lean and Kaizen training and background


III. BUSINESS EXPERTISE:
- Supplier approval and ongoing development plus part and process qualification are primary drivers of this success
- Need high level of cultural awareness within core region and other regions as required
- Support for major cost reduction initiatives
- Requires expertise in manufacturing and manufacturing processes for complex equipment
- Coaching and development of AGCO colleagues

IV. LEADERSHIP/PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

No direct supervisory employees report to this position.

V. PROBLEM SOLVING:

Problem solving will be technical, product and process driven; ability to move projects forward identifying, communicating and breaking down any barriers to success. Problem solving involves the product that is being manufactured and the process that is used in the manufacture, to identify the root cause, and drive changes to reach solution. Use of structured problem solving methodology and tools to identify and define root causes, verify corrective actions, implement permanent correction actions to prevent recurrence. Possess skills to identify and propose solutions to optimize supplier processes and overall performance.


VI. NATURE OF IMPACT
Suppliers that are determined to be less developed often bear a much greater impact on AGCO and therefore require developmental emphasis for adherence to AGCO’s performance requirements to avoid and prevent negative cost impacts and timing delays.

VII. AREA OF IMPACT:
This position impacts both internal and external customers. Process failures can create significant financial cost to repair, cause production line shut-down, and negate any PPV savings. Timeliness of decisions are critical to prevent delays of New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and negative impact on customer satisfaction.

VIII. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:

- Must make well informed decisions on supplier selection based on selection criteria and experience in asking the right question and pursuing the proper investigation
- Ability to build relationships and ‘trust’ with all levels of employees
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the business internal and external
- Capable to deliver training to suppliers on specified process tools and techniques
- Position requires skills to lead, influence, teach, coach, and mentor in certain circumstances
- Ability to persuade and influence global teams and suppliers

IX. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :
- Extensive and Demonstrated track record in Supplier Development activity. Broad spectrum of manufacturing technologies and process are essential
- Knowledge and experience of applying advanced manufacturing and process management techniques
- Project management skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Chinese and English
- Ability to communicate at all levels within an organization
- Ability to work with minimum supervision
- B.S. Engineering or technical
- 10-15 years in Engineering or Manufacturing with a company producing hydraulic parts, including valves, tubes, hoses, fittings and parts cleanness expertise
- Willing to travel >50% inside as well as outside regional location
- Strong ability to influence global teams and suppliers
- Experience in international organization, multi-cultural backgrounds
