I. POSITION PURPOSE:

The Production Manager will have an overall responsibility of manufacturing operations and processes to manufacture tractors (sub assembly, testing and painting) in AGCO Changzhou Greenfield. The incumbent will lead manufacturing operations for the interim plant in Changzhou as well as the planning, processes, steering and team set up for the new Greenfield plant.
The incumbent will head up the manufacturing for machining in the new Greenfield operation.

The key tasks related to this job are:

Factory Setup:
- Planning, processes and guidance for the factory set up of interim site as well as greenfield operation
- Planning and execution of set up of Greenfield operation from defining and implementing layout, processes and installation of machining
- Purchase and install tooling for final assembly and testing together with AGCO support team
- Set up factory and develop processes with AGCO support team according to lean manufacturing and first-time right concept
- Expansion of site capabilities as required (incl. assembly of driveline, machining, etc.)
- Staffing process (shop-floor people)
- Organize and execute training for manufacturing people
- Implementation of AGCO Production System (APS), incl. 5S and setting of operational standards (data operation sheet, quality/ work instructions, Cycle time calculation, etc.)
- Capability to manage the highly seasonal order program

Operational:
- Plan and Control the performance of manufacturing operations (KPIs)
- Manage resource planning, investment and budgeting
- Manage the tooling/facility together with plant manager/test engineer
- Consideration of EHS

III. FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE:

The role of Production Manager has the following key requirements:

- good understanding/experience in Lean Manufacturing -concept and continuous improvement
- skills to understand/manage assembly operations and process (machine test)
- good technical understanding and able to read design drawings
- ability to use design software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Catia) preferred
- experience in quality methods and practices and basic cost knowledge
- familiar with general PC software (Microsoft office, MRP as SAP R/3) and good ability to learn manufacturing software/systems (ERP)

X. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications:
- Master/Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Automation or related field
- Minimum five years experience in manufacturing industry, especially experience in assembly industry preferred from automotive/ construction equipment
- Experience in leadership/senior management role

Languages:
- Chinese (fluent written and spoken)
- English (excellent written and excellent spoken)
