As a Business Consultant, ABB Industrial Automation is writing the future of safe and smart operations. With our deep industry knowledge and automation expertise, we understand the needs of our customers and enable them to lead through safer, more productive, and energy efficient operations.
You will be a key source of market intelligence for the Sales teams in Business Function Business Development Business Line/ Industrial Automation Business in Shanghai/China country/NAS region. Reporting to the Primus inter pares of IA China / Head of Strategy & Business Development, IA, your will lead the development and implementation of strategy and initiatives from Group, Global Business and Country across LBLs by working with local and global related people. Support 5 LBLs in IA to create synergies across the businesses like oversea EPC, digital, country roadshow, exploit and generate organic and non-organic growth initiatives. Professionalize LBL sales, marketing and BD teams by adopting SFDC tool, providing coaching and business intelligence, jointly visiting customers with cross-LBLs teams, OEM account management, etc. Build up ABB strong branding and market image by attending external market events.
- Contribute to local business/LBL strategy definition and execution through the analysis and identification of markets, segments, and/or solutions by working with Global Business, Country and LBLs.
- Identify, lead or contribute to identification and acquisition new business opportunities, new segment, Front-end collaborations, support global M&A activities, initiated and developed new initiative to improve ABB branding and image.
- Lead in market and competitive intelligence, market studies, attend external marketing events on behalf of IA to promote ABB branding
- Ensure the development of sales plan for newly defined areas in alignment with local Business/LBL strategy and market. Sales tool like SFDC, oversea EPC, sales effectiveness enhancement, OEM account.
- Prepare business related materials for country and global Business meetings, engage with global, country and local LBLs for the various topics as needed. Participate in internal work groups in order to share know-how, processes and market information.

- A combination of engineering degree and MBA would be beneficial.
- 15+ years of accumulated work experience in multiple fields in marketing, sales, BD, strategy development and M&A.
- Strong business acumen and change leadership.
- Ability to work in multi-cultural & challenging environment, deal with people in different levels up to top management.
- Strong intrinsic drive, high passion and high level of energy, willingness to invest into the position.
- Strong project management experience across the Units, Businesses and countries.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Fluent in oral and written English and Chinese.
