As a Project Engineer, you will be part of the Power Grids (PG) Business and Grid Automation Business Line (BL), based in Beijing. ABB is World’s No.1 in Power Products Business and the product manufactured becomes the key components to transmit and distribute electricity. The division incorporates ABB’s manufacturing network for Transformers, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Cables and associated equipment. It also offers all the services needed to ensure products’ performance and extend their lifespan.

You will be the person for diverse engineering projects in Microgrids and Distributed Generation Product Group/ Grid Automation Business Line (BL)/ Power Grids (PG) Business in Beijing /China country/NAS region. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of assigned project deliverables on time, within budget and in line with relevant quality and safety guidelines.

? Act as a micro-grid, distributed generation and BESS solution system engineer.
? Serve as a specialist in the application of advanced concepts and methods.
? Assist in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.).
? Support Contract Managers in issuing claims (new/change in scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.).
? Provide quality solutions as per customer requirement and deliver within budget and contract.
? Ensure adherence to safety standards and mitigate potential risks
? Create work plans and cost estimate in own area of responsibility
? Review and approve scope, budget and schedule for assignments and ensures quality deliverable on time and within targeted cost. Improve effectiveness of work plan in collaboration with other functions
? Create and executes strategies for risk and opportunity management in one’s area of responsibility
? Identify and manage contract risks taking preventive/corrective actions to resolve any contract/ quality/ program/ cost issues Reports any outstanding issues to management, along with recommendations for resolution.
? Work with the customer to shape and deliver solutions and seeks customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements.
? Attend project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments
? Collaborate with the Supply Chain function to ensure that technical requirements for equipment or services are communicated and agreed on with potential suppliers.
? Provide technical evaluation of supplier proposal and accept as fit for purpose supplied equipment or services.
? Represent function in standardization committees and in communication and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments.
? Act as technical specialist/adviser to senior management Collaborates and networks within ABB and externally.
? Review develop and documents quality standards, processes, tools and techniques.
? Ensure that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.
? Contribute towards continuous improvements of processes and tools for engineering efficiency.
? Manage, develop and coach small team of Project Engineers/Designers.
? Assist the management to improve the Division Processes.

? Bachelor’s Degree or above, major in Engineering in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems is preferred).
? 5+ years of experience in the field of micro-grid, energy storage, distributed energy etc.
? Experience of solar (PV), wind generation solution, energy storage, battery, generator etc.
? Knowledge of related engineering tools and software required to accomplish his task (PLC Programming, AutoCAD, Office 365).
? Good knowledge of related products (GIS, Breakers, CT, PT).
? International culture awareness, ability to communicate and collaborate within global team and with international partners.
? Good communication, leadership, initiative and negotiation skills.
? Critical thinking and analytical skills.
? Must be precise, organized, flexible & autonomous.
? Result oriented, independent and flexible having the commitment to the business.
? Willing to travel frequently on business work.
