As a Sourcing Engineer, you will be part of the Motion (M) Business and Motors and Generators (BL) Business Line, based in Shanghai. ABB is the World leader in Motion (M) Businessoffering a wide range of products and services including drives, motors, generators and robots. Key applications include energy conversion, actuation, automation, standardized manufacturing cells for applications such as machine tending, welding, cutting, painting, finishing, palletizing and packing, and engineered systems for the automotive industry.

You will be a vital member of the procurement and logistics team within the Motors and Generators (BL) Business Line/ Motion (M) Business, in Shanghai /China country/NAS region. You will be responsible for managing the named global commodities for East Asia area. Collaborate and work with the peers and stakeholder on managing the suppliers and projects. Give input in developing and executing named commodity strategies.

? Drive transition of ABB spend to EM, when risk and total cost analysis justifies.
? Manage EM supplier relationships. Develop Suppliers that meet cost, payment terms, quality and delivery requirements to become and remain approved suppliers for the Business Line.
? Support BU Commodity Management in key supplier visits to evaluate suppliers’ technologies and capabilities.
? Implement accurate standard costs and execute on cost savings opportunities. Participate in cross-functional and cross organizational sourcing and capital projects as required. Identify opportunities in overall cost reduction, to include price, faster responsiveness and increase buying bargaining power.
? Support corporate sourcing initiatives through data provision, team participation and implementation of corporate sourcing decisions / directives.
? Maintain project files and records and information systems to ensure efficiency and productivity. Maintain accuracy of data in computer system, regarding sourcing projects.
? Negotiate and manage the trade-off between materials requirement planning / inventory level and economic order quantity
? As identified by LBU, assist in locating additional sources of supply for items deemed critical to assure continuous production levels.
? Support new product development projects in achieving revenue and profitable growth objectives.
? Support BU as they identify items that create supply risks for critical and long lead time items.
? Market analysis; identify new suppliers and make recommendations for major material purchases based on anticipated market price changes or in unusual availability situations.
? Actively provide information to engineering and R&D about new suppliers, materials and manufacturing methods.
? Take lead and overall responsibility in Sourcing Projects by working in conjunction with the peers and other function team members

? Bachelor’s Degree or above.
? 3+ years of working experience as Sourcing or equivalent.
? Experience in SAP is preferred.
? Fluent Business level in verbal and written English.
