As a Project Lead Engineer, you will be part of the Power Grids (PG) Division and Grid Integration (BU) Business unit, based in Shanghai. ABB is World’s No.1 in Power Products Business and the product manufactured becomes the key components to transmit and distribute electricity. The division incorporates ABB’s manufacturing network for Transformers, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Cables and associated equipment. It also offers all the services needed to ensure products’ performance and extend their lifespan.

You will be the technical lead and design authority for all engineering activities (both in-house and out-sourced) related to diverse engineering projects in System Integration, Substations & Power Infrastructure PG/ Grid Integration LBU/ Power Grids division based in Shanghai state/China country/NAS region. you will act as overall technical lead for the engineering disciplines included in the project specific scope of work assigned. He / She will actively develop and coach the project engineering team with technical advice and guidance.

? Ensure activities related to all engineering disciplines within the area of responsibility are efficiently executed, in accordance with the contract specification, quality standards and safety requirements, ready to be submitted to customers. Shall be capable to finish single line diagram and layout for AIS/GIS substations independently to meet customer requirement.
? Need to Create proposals for engineering projects or programs through coordination of proposal drawings, bill of materials, verification of supplier’s technical offers and estimate engineering hours for all engineering disciplines.
? Coordinate the creation of work plans and prepare regular estimation of the cost to complete for working packages in all applicable engineering disciplines. Proactively manages the project engineering team to deliver the agreed deliverables on time, on quality and at the targeted cost.
? Co-ordinate clarify with engineers, sub-contractors and suppliers technical issues and technical interfaces. Report to Engineering Manager regularly about the activities and status. Support the PM for better executing project.
? Preparation of RFQ documents for SCM to obtain quote. Providing technical clearance for finalization of orders in cooperation with the LPG, after technical evaluation of offers.

? A Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Power and its Automation etc.
? 5~8 years of Experience in AIS / GIS substation design (at least 220kV level) with focus on System level design and Working Experience in Design Institute is preferred.
? Should have Sound knowledge of transmission and distribution practices & Substation engineering.
? Must have Project experience leading a team of Engineering / Drafting / Design resources. Support with technical advice and guidance.
? Fluent in written and verbal English.
? To be able to determine the advantages and disadvantages and relative costs of alternative design concepts and work with the project engineering team on the establishment of preferred concepts.
? To have independently performed risk and opportunity analysis / assessment in proposals and supported project management in variation order and claims.
? Registered Electrical Engineer (Power) is preferred.
? Self-motivated, high curiosity and ability to learn about new technologies is required.
? Excellent team player with strong communication and interpersonal skill.
? Willing to travel on business trips.
