As a Project Engineer, you will be part of the Power Grids (PG)Business and Grid Automation (BL) Business Line, based in Beijing. ABB is World’s No.1 in Power Products Business and the product manufactured becomes the key components to transmit and distribute electricity. The division incorporates ABB’s manufacturing network for Transformers, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Cables and associated equipment. It also offers all the services needed to ensure products’ performance and extend their lifespan.

You will be the commissioning lead for a range of Microgrids and Distributed Generation Product Group/ Grid Automation (BL) Business Line/ Power Grids (PG)Business projects in Beijing /China country/NAS region. You will support the development of standard commissioning and test procedures during planning, implementation and installation phases.

？ Evaluate, select and apply standard techniques and procedures to perform engineering assignments.
？ Provide RTU, PLC based technical support for testing, installation and commissioning activities.
？ Take leading and responsible for the project automation solution.
？ Provide on-site commissioning and troubleshooting of PLC software as well as technical support of control system project to customer.
？ Prepare project automation related documentation within one’s scope of deliverables.
？ Assist in preparing proposal/presentation of engineering projects/programs (provision of bills of materials, estimated engineering hours, etc.).
？ Support Contract Managers in issuing claims (new/change in scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.).
？ Provide quality solutions as per customer requirement and delivers within budget and contract.
？ Ensure adherence to safety standards and mitigates potential risks.
？ Create work plans and cost estimate in own area of responsibility.
？ Review and approve scope, budget and schedule for assignments and ensures quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost. Improve effectiveness of work plan in collaboration with other functions.
？ Create and execute strategies for risk and opportunity management in one’s area of responsibility.
？ Identify and manage contract risks taking preventive/corrective actions to resolve any contract/ quality/ program/ cost issues Report any outstanding issues to management, along with recommendations for resolution.
？ Assist customers on technical issues, interacts with official contacts, contractors and other staff within his/her scope of deliverables.
？ Assist communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.
？ Collaborate with the Supply Chain function to ensure that technical requirements for equipment or services are communicated and agreed on with potential suppliers.
？ Provide technical evaluation of supplier proposals and accepts as fit for purpose supplied equipment or services.
？ Use standard processes and tools applicable to one’s area of responsibility.
？ Ensure that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.
？ Report processes and tools inefficiencies and suggests improvements ideas.
？ People leadership and development: Assign tasks to and coordinates work with entry level engineers, technicians, administrative staff.

？ Bachelor’s Degree, major in Electrical Engineering (preferably in Power Systems).
？ 5+ years of Experience in the field of Project Execution (PLC, RTU, substation designer and or project engineer).
？ Familiar with Industrial or Power communication protocol, be able to make communication program and analysis the communication fault.
？ Expert of using HMI or SCADA.
？ Capability of algorithm design. Familiar with industrial algorithm, i.e. sample filter, data compression etc.
？ Project execution work experience for drives (VSD), power conversion system, energy storage system, micro-grid and distributed generation etc. is a plus.
？ Willing to travel domestic and oversea.
？ Knowledge of related Engineering tools and software required to accomplish his task (AutoCAD, Office 365).
？ Good communication, Critical thinking and analytical skills, must be precise, organized, flexible & autonomous, result oriented, independent and flexible having the commitment to the business.
？ International culture awareness, ability to communicate and collaborate within global team and with international partners.
