Job Responsibility:

- Develop, plan and implement Procurement and Logistic strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality, delivery and reliability of suppliers and supplied products for Steel in Asia. Ensure execution in accordance with Company, P & L and Supply Base Management instructions and procedures. Supports global category Steel sourcing process. Participates in development of global supply agreements and is responsible for regional supply agreements for the Steel category.

Main responsibilities include:

- Participate actively in the definition of Global Sourcing Strategy for the Steel category and execute it within the frame of the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) process

- Manage and optimize the suppliers’ base; create best supply footprint

- Set-up and manage regional and global supplier agreements

- Create short and long term commodity demand profile and planning with input from ABB factories in Asia region

- Execute large RfQs, eRfQ (large volume, wide spread of demand profile, multi destinations) for ABB Steel demand at ABB factories and at sub-tier suppliers

- Effectively interact with internal customers and external suppliers in Asia region. Review and upgrade workflows to increase effectiveness and efficiency of operations

- Ensure compliance with contracts and demand profile along the supply chain and drive contract implementation at ABB factories and at sub-tier suppliers

- Manage quality and delivery risk through supplier selection, vendor development and capacity planning, business continuity planning

- Implement and monitor cost reduction programs as well as supplier performance improvement

Provide in-depth expertise in the Steel market: vendors market, demand and supply, costs structure, price trends.

- Provide knowledge in advanced sourcing tools applied to the category (eSourcing, Linear Performance Pricing etc.)

Job Requirements:

Track record of minimum 10 years’ experience in Strategic Sourcing

Extensive experience in Tender and Supplier Management

Ability to effectively plan and manage the deployment of multiples activities and projects under time pressure

Good understanding of intercultural sensitivity in a complex cross–organizational and cross–functional environment.

Strong leadership skills; ability to drive change in a matrix environment using influential leadership instead hierarchical authority

Excellent written and spoken English, proficient in negotiation

Good understanding of the dynamics of the Steel industry or equivalent commodity (e.g. non-ferrous metal)
