PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Drives purchasing practices to assigned commodity management and applies strong knowledge to ensure products and service meet quality, delivery, and specification requirements at the lowest possible costs. Identifies new suppliers, negotiates price, analyzes trends, and expedites orders within functional area of responsibilities.
A. Applies skillful negotiations with external suppliers; problem solves and settles disputes; develop win-win resolutions, and creates positive relations with tact, diplomacy, and appropriate judgment for the function.
B. Defines and applies complex data analysis and analytical tools for process improvements. Possesses expert knowledge in the application of data analysis and tools for functions with more complexity.
C. Drives or creates process channel knowledge and opportunities for acquiring materials and services in order to ensure delivery requirements for commodities and service customers.
D. Possesses sound knowledge and applications skills of the value chain process; and possesses strong to expert ability to analyze and interpret cost drivers when developing cost out strategies.
E. Creates innovative approaches for utilizing and applying project management tools and techniques for procurement applications.
F. Prepares reports and other correspondence for use by Eaton SCM professionals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
A. Education:
a. Bachelor degree in applicable functional discipline or possesses an associate’s degree with at least three years of experience in supply chain work activities.
B. Preferred Knowledge and Training:
a. Possesses strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
b. Ability to develop and negotiate effective commercial contracts on behalf of Eaton.
c. Familiar with ERP system like Oracle, SAP.
d. Understands international tax, duty, tariff implications for global commodities.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
A. Relationship builder – internally and externally.
B. Results-oriented.
C. Managerial courage and willingness to challenge the ‘status quo’ as appropriate.
D. Excellent interpersonal skills and high attention to detail required – both in terms of written and verbal communication.
E. An effective communicator – multi-language skills a plus. English essential.
F. Ability to manage conflict in a positive manner, working towards consensus and win/win outcomes.
G. Establishes high performance standards and holds self and others to them. Provides timely, complete and actionable feedback, whether positive or corrective – Holding Self and Others Accountable.
H. Contract Negotiations
I. Possessing ethics and values; widely trusted; direct and truthful, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and gain confidence.
J. At least 3 years related working experience.
