I. POSITION PURPOSE:

Based in Changzhou, this position is responsible for providing management accounting and business support for Changzhou factory.

As a key member of the finance team, there will be close liaison with factory management team and local functional teams.

Responsibility is to ensure that key operational business decisions are based on appropriate financial review and control. This will include active involvement across the broad scope of business decisions and processes affecting the site:

- Managing all financial aspects of Changzhou factory cost management and control including standard and variance accounting and measurement;

- Annually managing the setting the factory standard cost for Changzhou

- Preparation and presentation of budgets, forecasts and latest looks for the factory (considering and challenging key drivers affecting the factory, such as sales and production volumes, direct material price reduction activities, inventory management, labour and factory overhead cost management, exchange rate impacts);

-Preparation, critical review and presentation of reports for the monthly factory "cost out" review meetings with the functional Vice Presidents for Manufacturing and Purchasing;

- Preparation of the causal analysis for actual, budget and forecasts;

- Any ad hoc project which require finance involvement

II. Key Accountability:

·Part of the factory management team to ensure the most effective business support is given and that processes are in place which are efficient and meet operational objectives.

·Oversee the preparation, review and submission of site budgets (annually), forecasts (quarterly) and latest look updates (monthly for the current quarter).
·This involves reviewing and challenging key drivers (such as sales and production volumes, inventory, factory costs, engineering costs),

·Provide appropriate business-based financial support to the actuals reporting process.

·Closely manage and control Changzhou factory accounting, including participation in worldwide "cost out" reviews with HQ.

III. FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE:

This role will require excellent knowledge and application of a wide range of management accounting techniques, and in particular experience with standard costing techniques in a manufacturing environment.

Excellent working knowledge of investment appraisal techniques such as NPV, IRR, payback.

Strong Excel spreadsheet skills, Powerpoint, Word and other systems knowledge.

Appreciation of the workings of modern integrated finance and business systems is highly desirable - SAP is the ERP system

Experience of a broad range of Finance processes such as actuals closing, budgeting and forecasting, and cash management are considered a pre-requisite.

IV. BUSINESS EXPERTISE:

Experience of manufacturing operations is required.

V. LEADERSHIP/PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

The cost accountant will have a hands-on approach, encouraging a "can-do" attitude focused on achieving results.

Good communication skills

VI.PROBLEM SOLVING:

This role will need to navigate effectively across different functions and within Finance,

Excellent numeracy skills.

VII.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications:

College education

Clear demonstration of interest and influence over wider business decisions is necessary, including significant contributions to major projects.

Working knowledge of standard costing and manufacturing accounting techniques in a large manufacturing organization must be demonstrated.

Languages:

Excellent English.
