职位描述
I. POSITION PURPOSE:
This position is intended to support AGCO engineering operations by providing an engineering project management support function for new and localized AGCO product. The position will support the senior project engineer/project manager function by overseeing and delivering various stages of project worked on. The position holder will be expected to work on multiple projects and products at the same time.
II. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY: KEY MEASUREMENT:
? On-time delivery of assigned engineering project tasks Schedules met at each stage of a project
? Identification of design parameters and engineering problems Ensure quality design solutions are presented for approval
? Effective supervision of a team of engineers Work is correctly organized and prioritized
? To identify and manage risks and issues Risks and issues raised to manager for timely contingency plan
III. FUNCTIONAL KNOWLEDGE:
The role requires experience in the domain of mechanical engineering and specifically whole vehicle technology and commodity knowledge of one or more of the following: castings, forgings, sheet metal forming, machining, electrical/electronic, engine systems, hydraulics, rubbers, plastics etc . It requires good working knowledge of project management, general engineering theory, principles, and design and development knowledge. The role is expected to include knowledge and application of project management and technical decision making. The role is also procedural in that the engineer will be expected to provide input at different stages of the localization process as required whether it be for staff or supplier guidance as to AGCO's correct procedures.
IV. BUSINESS EXPERTISE:
The job holder is expected to have a high level of understanding of the business and good knowledge of the AGCO product range. The job holder must have a good understanding of the manufacturing, purchasing and quality functions to the degree where they can provide input to these functions. A keen interest and knowledge of the agricultural industry is required including current trends and country specific knowledge of industry institutions and developments.
V. LEADERSHIP/PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
The role requires decision making capability and engineering task prioritization linked to projects, with resources allocation. Budgetary control may be required and knowledge of cost control and management of related engineering expenses is necessary. Guidance and supervision of staff relating to engineering matters will be required on a daily basis.
VI. PROBLEM SOLVING:
The job holder must be capable of supervising a team to solve all encountered issues during project development with adequate proposals for contingency planning and a structured solution proposal to their manager. Knowledge of standard quality methodologies for problem solving is required. Problem solving will mainly be in the domain of technical issues such as overcoming mismatch of technical data or capability between requirements of AGCO site engineering and the supplier. This will require novel solutions to be provided by job holder and/or compromise solutions. The job holder may be required to assess the capability of a supplier and/or service provider (3rd party laboratories etc ) and make judgment calls on their suitability to manufacture certain parts and/or provide alternative design features subject to AGCO site engineering approval.
VII. NATURE OF IMPACT
This role is intended to have a positive impact on the business in terms of timely completion of AGCO's projects and training of locally hired staff regarding AGCO product. The role is also expected to help develop and maintain an accurate and fluid flow of communications between AGCO sites (Canoas, Brazil, Beauvais, France, TAFE, India etc ) and also with suppliers in the location.
The job holder therefore also has a responsibility to help maintain AGCO's expected quality standards. The job holder is expected to work autonomously and actively seek out the work required to be done in conjunction with their manager. The job holder is expected to make suggestions for improvement and use their initiative at all times in order to progress the objectives and goals of the company. The job holder is responsible for the tasks allocated to them by their line manager and must execute them to a satisfactory conclusion.
VIII. AREA OF IMPACT:
This role principally has an impact on the engineering function of the business but also impacts the quality and manufacturing function as well as third parties involved in any project.
IX. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
The job holder must be capable of direct (face to face) and indirect (Email, telephone etc ) communication with personnel within and outside of the company at all levels from shop floor staff to senior management. The job holder must be capable of expressing technical ideas, solutions and processes in English in spoken and written form. The job holder must be capable of working in and with different cultures and able to adapt easily. They must also be capable to manage team meetings and steer the team towards meaningful outcomes.
X. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :
Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering with Masters Degree considered a plus.
Experience in design and testing of Agricultural and/or off-highway vehicles (6+ years)
Experience of working in overseas locations and on joint design activities
Ability to communicate in English Written and spoken
Trained in the use of CAD software (5+ years)
Computer literate MS office etc
