Basic Function / General Description:

This Senior Supplier Quality Engineer / Supply Quality Manager will responsible for Strategic Components including elevator E-3 products and/or GeN2 strategic components and suppliers as assigned by Supervisor for supplier quality management covering existing mass production parts and also new program / new products under development phase. This Engineer / Manager will take full quality ownership for products & suppliers under his responsibilities.
This Engineer / Manager will responsible for supplier quality and development task from supplier selection & new development phase, complete PPAP (PPAP Request Sheet, Parts Warrant – PSW, PPAP issues follow up) for new and modify products / parts, take lead and follow up on Pro-Cert implementation for KPCs, evaluate and improve supplier manufacturing processes, quality control & assurance system, process control & error proofing processes; guide suppliers to do RRCA if there is any failure occur and follow up till closure; and Q+/SHA and/or process audits (E-3 Audit, Process Review, Layered Audit, Self/System Audit, etc.).


Duties, Responsibilities & Authorities:

Compliance with ethical rule & regulations; ensure ethical awareness and culture when interface with suppliers; ensure the supplier development & testing activities are transparent, fair and ethical in order to be compliant with UTC Code of Ethics.
Deploy Otis EHS policy and requirement in supplier development & testing activities; continuously improve EHS performance of suppliers and awareness of Otis employees.
Deploy Otis Internal Control policy and requirements; ensure compliance environment.
Support Supply Chain to search and identify potential suppliers and sub-suppliers for responsible products and suppliers.
Lead potential new/existing suppliers on site assessment activities, include Q+/SHA audit, Process Audit and/or supplier evaluation; follow up on gaps identified, provides coaching and training to help suppliers to close those gaps timely and meeting program schedule
Lead Pro-Cert for KPCs, PPAP (PPAP Request Sheet, Parts Warrant – PSW, PPAP issues follow up) activities with suppliers.
Take lead to review suppliers PFD, PFMEA, Control plan, GR&R, Cpk studies and mistake proofing initiatives on site at supplier location.
Lead DIVE/RRCA, quality & reliability improvement activities with suppliers
Work with Engineering team & suppliers for product testing and code compliance status.
Identifying, reporting and tracking supplier performance resulting from supplier development & testing programs.
Writing, developing and deploying supplier development & testing standard work.


Accountability & measures:

Job performance will be measured in accordance with supplier PPM & Escapes, on time completion of Pro-Cert, PPAP (PPAP Request Sheet, Parts Warrant – PSW, PPAP issues follow up) per PDP program timeline, on time completion of Q+/SHA/Process Audit, on time completion of FTB/CI 8D report and verify the effectiveness of DIVE/RRCA for responsible products and suppliers


Work experience & skills requirements:

Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing quality assurance or supplier quality & development position.
Knowledge of, and experience with, statistical process control and advanced quality planning tools such FMEAs, control plans, control charts, manufacturing flow charts and measurement systems.
Ability to conduct DIVE/RRCA using 5 why, Fishbone and other analytical tools.
Ability to read and write in English.
Good command of computer knowledge-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
High working efficiency and strong sense of responsibility.
Excellent people interaction and communication skill at all levels, strong team player.
Self-motivated and able to handle pressure
Ability to independently organize tasks and lead quality related initiatives
Black(Green) belt from machining & automobile industry

Educational Requirements
Professional Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical / Electrical / Material Engineering or equivalent
