Key Responsibilities/Areas of Accountability:

-Anticipate, identify, and evaluate Environment, Health & Safety hazards and risks integral to Husky business operations;

-Manage key projects designed to provide business solutions with regard to those risks.

-Design and perform industrial hygiene surveys, e.g. air monitoring, noise level.

-Establish criteria for EHS Guidelines to encompass both regulatory (compliance) activities and best management practices; communicate finalized EHS Guidelines to the affected business units.

-Develop/maintain an EHS performance measurement system for the AP Region Campus to include auditing of established guidelines, compliance auditing, and/or other EHS programs; ensure communication of audit results back to the affected Husky departments or Business Units.

-Work with the management support teams of each AP Region Business Unit to establish yearly EHS goals and objectives.

-Be familiar with the implementation of ISO 14001 standards, as required.

Identify EHS training needs and manage programs with regard to EHS training, development, and delivery for the Asia Pacific Region Campus.

-Lead, coach and develop an EHS Coordinator.

Security

-Monitor Security System for Shanghai; Communicate with global;

-Maintain Access Control Systems;

-Work with HR team and related business unit for Annual Occupational Employee Health checks;

-Contact and communicate with Consultants, regional departments, and other related government departments.

Cafeteria Management

-Provide information to Husky team members regarding cafeteria services.

-Work with Cafeteria manager (contractor) to ensure that team members are satisfied with meals and service at all locations.

-Suggest process improvements to enhance cafeteria services

-Participate in contract negotiations as required

Technical/Professional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

-Ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment;

-Enjoy working in a team atmosphere;

-Familiar with appropriate legislation for environmental issues.

-Strong organizational skills;

-Excellent English written and verbal skills;

-Act as a liaison between external regulatory agencies including Labour Bureau, Environment Asia, municipal governments as well as insurance companies and other groups to further address EHS issues with regard to compliance and loss control activities for the Asia Pacific Region;

-Represent Husky on key industry Environment, Health & Safety committees/associations;

-Keep technically current with leading edge environmental health and safety management concepts and methods and upcoming Asia regulatory legislation;

-Support other Husky Campuses (Luxembourg, Vermont, Chennai, etc.) with Environment, Health & Safety initiatives, working to help achieve Global EHS standardization;

-Manage external EHS contractors, consultants, etc., for the Asia Pacific Region Campus;

-Prioritize various EHS requests or projects to achieve the highest level work efficiency possible;

-Recommend course of action to achieve/ensure regulatory compliance;

-Assist Business Units with decisions regarding EHS project implementation;

-Leadership Skill.

Education

-4-year degree in Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline;

-Designation in recognised safety organization preferred, for example: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH),

-Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH), Ergonomist.

Related Experience

-Five to eight years experience in the Environment, Health & Safety field;

-Experience working in a manufacturing environment;

-Supervisory experience
