POSITION OVERVIEW:
Rovi has a large deployment of interactive program guides for cable television. We are continually improving and expanding our products and as part of this, our Professional Services team is seeking a Technical Pre Sales Manager for Greater China include HongKong and Taiwan all customer base.
The Technical Pre Sales Manager will utilize their strong technical background and strong interpersonal skills to technically represent Rovi’s products to various Cable/Telco operators , OTTs/IPTV content service providers, Consumer Electronics Manufacturers and describe how those products can be used to satisfy the customers’ requirements. Working with the Product team, the Technical Pre Sales Manager will help craft overall solution proposals and be the liaison to the Professional Services delivery team for subsequent implementation
Working closely with the Sales team, the Technical Pre Sales Manager plays a key role in the sales process and helps to coordinate feedback about the customer’s needs and current Rovi product issues to Sales, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Service and Executive Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Provide support to Sales with technical and business domain expertise
? Assist Sales in the creation and delivery of presentations /demonstrations which highlight the benefits, key features and functions of our various products and solutions
? Drive the discovery, management, and documentation of the customers’ technical expectations and requirements, and in the engagement qualifying and offering activities
? Coordinate with Product Management to ingest and understand new customer feature requests; communicate status of requests to customer
? Contribute to growing the revenue of Professional Services in the selling of Rovi solutions
? Maintain an understanding of key industry trends and competitors in the System Operator space
? Develop and maintain relationships with customer technical teams, and deliver customer’s technical decision insight to Sales team.
? Be an active team player contributing to the success of the Professional Services team, sharing the company’s vision and values, and committed to the continuous improvement of the team’s expertise and skills
MUST HAVE:
? Minimum 3 years experience in the one of following industry Cable/Telco industry , OTTs/IPTV content service industry, Consumer Electronics Manufacturer Industry with a focus on guidance or other technically-centric products and solutions
? Engineering Pre Sales and Account management experience is a must, Metadata and Search & Recommendation & Voice recognition experience is a plus.
? Previous experience in a technical role a must, software development and Content Service provider’s Operation/Boardcasting System supporting is a plus
? Excellent presentation skills (planned and ad-hoc)
? Excellent writing skills, with previous experience creating technical proposals
? Ability to navigate and manage technical, product and business issues within a customer account
? Ability to relate to customer issues and capable of applying solutions to meet the needs of customer specific requirements
? Project management and problem solving skills
? Strong customer communications skills, written, oral and face-to-face
? A team player that can add value technically and have the ability to 'think on one's feet'
? Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 33% of time; more at times depending on situation
? Ability to drive within countries visited required
? Fluency with Mandarin Chinese and English , with an ability to converse technically a plus
EDUCATION:
? BS in Computer Science / MIS or equivalent experience is required
